That was great! Very professional in feel and style. I most particularly liked the structure and the color tone of the film. I just completed something in 72 hours as well and know exactly how rushed things feel. One particular concern I had was when the main character is at the table talking to the...

It's called Vimeo, they allow you to upload only 250mb worth of footage a week and the final render for this was only 150mb. It can be any length in time as well.

Re: RE: Despair of Humanity -- New Film
as is usual the actors are perhaps a little too young to be that convincing looking. Now your the director its up to you to cast right looking people That was more of Gyro's duties (who also directed). I actually brought this up when coming up with an idea. My original idea was to do a contemporary...

Despair of Humanity -- New Film
Our school has this thing called TSA (Technology Student Association) and my tech teacher asked Gyro and I to make a short film for the competition to give another student some competition...this other student happens to be our friend who is CaptainAmerica on this forum. Anywho, the film had to be d...

Precinct 71 Video Blog #3
Here is the third video blog for the newest Kentertainment Pictures production Precinct 71 which is directed by Gyro (who occasionally comes to this forum). The film is a action/comedy buddy cop taking place in the year 1989. Detective John Burlinsky is assigned a new partner, Jack Spinelli, a Detec...

Next Job year anniversary!
For all of you newbies out there, here is a film I did a year ago for my schools film studies class. It's full of some good fun satirical gun action and I just thought I'd do a "reposting" to show more people. Probably the funnest movie I've made to date. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__K...

Yesterday I began devising a crew list of all the people I'm going to need for a short film I plan to film in April. I thought you'd might like to see... Director: Obviously directs the film. Writer: Obviously wrote the film. Producer: The main sha-bang whose in charge and provides funds. Director o...

One person you really need is a script supervisor, or, the person who follows the script for what has been filmed and what needs filming as well as taking notes on continuity for the next angle. It's a pretty important, but boring job. A lot of times you think you know your script by heart and then ...

Cos with ur technical competence u could create something really far out if u had a less pop cultural kind of script, something more edgy! Funny you say that, a friend and I are working on a sort of dark comedic film poking its fun at teenage depression and the human psyche involved in attempting t...

With my experience, I would go with the XL-1 because it is far more professional than the GL2. I just used a GL2 (checking out from my work) about 30 minutes ago and in theory, it is very much like a GL1. XL-1's allow you to hook up a an actual boom mic cord (although you'll need a splitter to balan...

I don't know why, but for some reason at the start of this film I had a feeling a Keane song would be thrown in there somewhere. I enjoyed it. The story wasn't just served on a platter to us, we actually have to take at least a minute to think about it and piece it together and that is what kept me ...

This is the perfect opening for this. Here is a website http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=911_morons It's a University of Utah student who just bashes on things. It's more of conservative comedy but I think a lot of people would enjoy it. I'm a little bit confused on the story. All I g...

RE: Distribution question
Google Video offers streaming on the web where you can put a price on it and people have to buy it to watch it. The best option is to set up some screenings in your town and then sell some copies after the showing. That requires money though...to rent out the theaters.

mediocre (but acceptable) sound I’d settle with mediocre, than poor sound. The acting was (great for the repair man) He has been involved in numerous plays throughout his life. By having your character angry and dumping his girl, makes him both unsympathetic to the audience and has him in co...

It's hard at first to motivate people to help you out. I basically started out with me and a friend, showed that film to friends, made another movie, showed that, so on. At this moment, if well planned, I can probably get 10-15 people help me out. The only problem is it's hard to get them all togeth...

I like that you expanded on the norm and tackled a period piece, although there were points where you could easily see the modern cloths underneath. For a while there I was asking myself why this was banned, then WHAM! They were rompa-rooing! El Burrito de la Muerte had a gun in it and that was enou...

Did you do any color correction? It looks really great. The sound was perfect.Did you ask for permission at the library if you could of film there? Plenty of color correction. The interior shots were desaturated a bit and given a tanish tint to sort of bring out the mundane afternoon, but once outs...
