My parents are way supportive. I used to skateboard all the time and was a naive little puke that just wanted to be a pro skateboarder which is almost no income whatsoever. Anyway, I find my parents are typically telling people about my films and showing my films to their co-workers and whatnot.

If at all possible, you may want to mess with the camera functions for a day before you film anything. If you are uncomfortable with the manual functions, such as exposure and white balance, I'd suggest just using the automatic settings.

I normally let them know that if they want a copy to just give me a blank DVD of their own and then I'll burn it for them. That way I don't have to use all my DVD's.
