aside from the voices being low, I feel the pain of stupid in cammera mics, it was really good. I like what you do with the color crection and your blood effects are really good, CG or otherwise. I look forward to seeing you make a bigger action movie.

RE: Naughty Soldiers is back on!

Nifty always wanted to see this. Another way to drum up some interest would be to maybe put up the half finished version that you shot all those years ago so that footage doesn't go totaly to waste.

I would just go with your own since of style as that is what will help set your movie apart. I have never really seen any aparant style across the board in zombie movies, Dawn of the dead is shot totaly diffrent from 28 days later which is diffrent from the new Dawn of the dead, which is diffrent fr...

RE: Re: RE: Script competition?

Well what we should is have a script compation where everybody sends in a script (5-10 pages and maybe with a given promt or something like that) and then we vote on a winning script and thats the one we use for the film compition. So that we could have two winners. Of course the person who wins wit...

You're absolutely right. I always hated that - it's a consequence of the Detfilms bloodstock and the transfer mode I'm using. I've got some better footage and particle stuff now, so that's one small detail that'll definitely be revised. One of the big problems I'm having with this project now is, b...

RE: Acting

Wow the grammor there was just.....man anyway to answer your question. As you reherse the sequence and are having your friends improve the lines you can start to build a ruff idea of what you want them to say. If they come up with a funny line have them keep that in the next take etc. I know when I ...

Sometimes writing a film that is set in another universe or based off of something can be harder then doing an orignal plot, mostly becuase you can't just invent your way out of somethings. One of the hardist scripts that I had to write were two fan films beause I had to think of how do I out do Luc...

It's all pretty subjective really. Sometimes I ask myself why anybody would want to be an assistant to Mr. "Whomever" or why somebody would want the job of keying out a greenscreen but it's what they like to do. I suppose the majority of people want to direct and I think partially here it...

From what I have seen (owning a macbook with a new intell prosseser) the only diffrence is that everytime I go home my brother trys to convince me to duel boot OSX and XP or Vista, which kind of defets the purpose of owning a mac. And as for gaming, if you install windows on your mac you can do all ...

RE: Directing

I don't think they have to know how to write and craft a story even if they don't do it. Look at spealburg he doesn't write any of his movies (well aside from AI) but its clear he does know how to write and craft a story. Otherwise you get this rash of cenimtographers that know how to make prety pic...

RE: First Post on Should A Director do his Own Cinematograph

It all depends on the director the type of movie and the budget. Like for myself if its a low budget flick I know enough to direct and do my own cinematoraphy but if I had a bigger budget I would probably get a profetonal person to do it for me so that it would actualy look good.

video in general isn't going to work as well for night. end of story But ya it is all about light, just pick up a book or even just read something about lighting on wikipedia. Or embrace the grainy look of video it does give things a more gritty (clearly) nasty realish look take 28 days later for ex...

RE: Recording at night

its a real movie for one. A. its shot on film not a camcorder. B. they have it lite so that it might look like its night, but the set has a s*** ton of light all over it. So it just looks like its night. So ya thats what it is. all lights so that you can see things, and of corse not using a camcorder.

Thats not a bad deal at all for that cammera, I got mine back in 02 and payed $3000 for it, but then it was new. But thats a good deal for a few year old top end 3CCD cam. And you know that "film look" with video is more a post and lighting thing.

I do need that game, with the blood mod. The first one was a good start, but I wanted more, the second was a great bloody animated sword fight, you have a good eye for the styleized violance with swords, your guns could use some work.

Vagas video version 3 was 600 and the upgrade to 5 was 200. So I have spent to much, and I'll probably end up moving to 7 at some point.
