Forced perspective

I'm going to try a shot that i haven't done before - forced perspective using a foreground miniature. The miniature will not move and there will be no camera movement, making this relatively uncomplicated. i was just wondering if anyone else has tried this before and how well it worked, any advice, ...

i think some of you guys are being a little harsh - it was filmed and edited in an hour!!! it was just a bit of fun and whilst it may not be particularly funny and im not inclined to take another look, its probably hysterical to them. its also better than some of the films ive seen that have taken p...

nice short and as scary as mainstream horror films (which isn't scary, but seeing as you had little time to build up suspense- excellent.) a shot that could have been included was a hand held shot through the door looking at the back of your character i.e. through the eyes of the attacker. great sca...

plan, plan, plan! know exactly what you are going to do (i.e. angles, dialogue, positions) and then you can spend the time getting the lighting, etc. right. story boards (even with just stick men) can help with this and can ensure you get all shots necessary. i agree with the guy above - although so...

thought that was really good - well shot and some great editing. good timing too as its given one or two ideas - we just shot test footage of a model car involved in a chase for our next film. its a tongue in cheek super spy movie where the lead characters car has loads of gagets - one being a shrin...

Re: RE: paper mache helmets

BAsically, take a plastic bag that fits over the helmet. Put it over it, then put a few layers (or more) of paper mache over it. Then let it dry, and take it off and sepetart the bag from it. Then, paint is and add chinstrap made form a strap or something like that. thats your best bet for cheapo h...

this allows you to record an image on the screen of your computer i.e. play your cd and record the graphics in windows sound recorder. an old version will do - we used it for copying visualisations.

why do you need compositing? cant you just film yourself from one side of a busy road to the other!? cars will then be in front of you! seriously, i know what you mean - we wanted to layer explosions in front of and behind things for a fun film we're doing. i think my sfx guy did something like what...

First film!!?? in that case - put this down for a 2006 shoot! this would be challenging for an experienced amateur film maker. pity, cos i was looking forward to seeing it! for your first films - do a couple of shorts that'll test all you need for a bigger film i.e. dialogue, sfx, fights, etc until ...

yeah, this could work - would have to be a great script and be really well made but it does have potential.

what kind of resources do you have mate? i.e. locations, actors, etc.
