RE: "A Walk in the Light Green" DVD

I would just like to add that no money is being made on this project. We charge to cover our expenses of both production and the DVD. As I've stated before this film is to honor ALL who served, but specifically Vietnam Vets. We are NOT trying to make any sort of profit.

See if this helps. Something I put together at the very beginning of the Vietnam Film project. http://media.putfile.com/BloodBody-Hit The blood packet was a condom filled with homemade blood, the "charge" a blackcat firecracker set off by a estes rocket ignitor. There are better materials ...

RE: Black powder deeley

Black Powder is far from ideal for squibs. The energy per weight is not great and it leaves telltale smoke. What, exactly, are you planning on using it for? I have no idea what the U.K. legalities are (kinda sucks to live with so much gov control in that area), but I can help you with the technical ...

Full size, exactly like the mil issue minus the "fun switch" (full auto). I've gotten to shoot the E3 version on auto, though. Quite a bit of fun.

Alright, I'll bite. As for real weapons (as in can fire actual rounds as well as blanks), I personally own an M1A(Civilian copy of the M14), a Russian Tula Arsenal SKS, One Colt Combat Commander 1911, One Springfield Armory GI .45 Copy, an AR15 configured to a Vietnam style M16, a cute .22 semi-auto...

Cool stuff. Definitely looking forward to seeing it. I'll admit, though, I'm a war film "purist". Regardless, It'll be interesting to see how you all managed to combine two genres. Only one thing I saw wrong: The grenade that rolls next to the guy is definitely a dummy . . . the bottom is ...

Good job. I liked it over all. Horror definitely isn't my genre (thought this obviously is more of a spoof), but the ideas were fresh. From a special effects standpoint, I'd try to put a little more effort into the bullet hits. Understandably, any type of explosive in your house is uacceptable, but ...

A Walk in the Light Green Traile

chroma keying, smoke animation and other similar effects Yeah I have a question. Are all the explosions I saw in the trailer and all the smoke effects, muzzle smoke, etc (Apart from that shot of real blanks being shot) CGI? I'm familiar with super imposing pictures or other movie files on Adobe Pre...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: A Walk in the Light Green Trailer

Haha yeah! I agree totally. There was one time we were one in ten finalists of this national competition where the prize was a $10,000 contract to produce a pilot with a renown local director and work with a big TV studio. We were the youngest team (Everyone was like 30-40) and we didnt win. But it...

that looks wicked, what are you using for editing and special effects etc. keep it up, also how many people are in your team, cast and crew Sorry it took so long to reply. Been gone on Thanksgiving leave. For editing we used Adobe Premiere Pro. For special effects and filters we used either Premier...

Ummm. Well, it was bluescreened. I guess that's what you mean. Not exactly alot of working hueys out there these days, much less hueys that fit in an amateur film budget to rent!

Forgot to mention that the original title for this film was "Tay Ninh". Also, this trailer lacks any of the final filters put on the actual film.

I just dug this up: http://media.putfile.com/A-Walk-in-the-Light-Green---First-trailer---low-rez . Almost forgot this existed as I had no part in editing it. This trailer was put together early in the project, with only a few film shoots done. You will also notice that it has the release date as May...

RE: Artificial gun recoil

The shell looks like it ejects out the left side of the weapon. Most eject out the right since most people are right handed. The slide looks real good, though. It seems to be off a fraction of a second from the flash (needs to be a bit sooner). As for the smoke, unless its black powder, it won't hav...

RE: Re: RE: A Walk in the Light Green Trailer

Got it up on youtube. For some reason, though, the quality is much lower than the copy on putfile (which is disappointing as alot of quality was already lost by making the file small enough to put on putfile). http://www.youtube.com/?v=U35K2NRmmDw Thanks for all the responses from everyone. Probably putfiles usual unrealiability. Well from what I saw, I thought it was seriously AWESOME. $250 external funding? Thats very small support. How much did you guys pay altogether? The film looks as if it costs at least $5,000. Just wondering, what are you guys gonna' do with this film? Festiva...

Errr. Sorry about that. Does anyone know a more realiable webhosting? I've found putfile to be pretty good, especially since it doesn't have any sort of mandatory wait time, but if you know a better place for a 21 mb file, let me know and I'll upload it.

RE: Re: RE: A Walk in the Light Green Trailer

Oh yeah, the music was written by a VERY talented high schooler who not only composed it, but also played it. Believe me, it is not disappointing in the least bit. I'm not just happy with it, I'm simply amazed that a single, young individual could have so much talent.
