RE: preview for horror film
Be careful how you hold your weapons, I couldn't stand watching the pierce brosnan James Bond films because he held his gun like you guys, make sure you hold it out from your body with your arms almost fully extended and forward all the time when you intend to use it (raids and walking through bushe...

I think the point of saying what films it's used in isn't hype, it's about showing you what you can do with something. If all you see from some program is crappy films, you would be less likely to buy it and use it than if you saw an excellent film with awesome effects made with something good. Seei...

For Aussies: How to get into the Australian Film Industry
http://www.afc.gov.au/faqs/careers/faq_1.aspx
thought it might be helpful to the (admittedly small) number of Aussies on the forum. It's pretty good if you live in Melbourne or Perth, but not much in the way of anywhere else, worth reading if you are interested and some good links too.

RE: Re: New Short Film - "Sanctuary"
I first of all want to congratulate you for being one of the first people to make a film that isn't gore/blood and vampires. Although I was hoping for him to get taken out by a semi-trailer when he was sitting on the road. I found the story disjointed and impossible to follow wihtout your blurb, it ...

RE: Precinct 71 Video Blog #2
That's cool. Man I wish I had someone to film a making of of my films, most of the time I'm holding the camera, the script and the microphone...and no one ever brings me chairs either.
Perhaps I should buy some slaves?

Auto Focus on Canon MV530i
My Canon camera doesn't have any way (I think) of changing the focus, it has manual focus, but there is no way to change the actual focusing (which doesn't make any sense) do you know any way of changing the depth of focus, I don't know the actual term, but I want to choose how far away the focus is...

RE: Re: RE: How Filmmakers On matts can Avoid Common Problem
The other mistake people make heaps is where to cut in and out, in heaps of amateur stuff on youtube and google video you see shots that begin with people standing still beofre beginning to run, which doesn't work if the shot previos cut away while they were running...it's little things that make fi...

RE: How do you guys direct Music Videos?
Shoot it from start to finish in erms of the song, and find parts of the song that ehxibit a particular instrument or vocalist. Use those bits for close-up queues (you can have more) and shoot those after you have shot coverage in all the different locations/characters filming everything. If you wan...
