RE: Multiple Cameras or Single Camera

If your actors are well enough prepared, you can shoot several takes with the same camera from various angles and easily edit them.

RE: Sky Rocket Studios Official Website

Why do you have a link to your own site on the links page? It's a little rhetorical.

RE: Youtube vs Google Video

It doesn't matter to me as long as I can watch the media I want to. I upload all my material on my own servers.

My strobe light is officially broken. Is there a way i could use its shell to project the light (and color it)? Again, a strobe light is not meant to project light constantly. So, unless the shell is made of metal, it may very possibly melt and become a safety hazard. Is that a chance you're willin...

A good first step would be to spend a day or two at a bookstore and READ There is a lot, lot of media out there. You don't even have to buy the books (unless you want to), just dedicate time to reading books. This step will quickly teach you all the basic terminologies and theories in the world of f...

Why does the logo have to be a full feature in itself? It doesn't need to be more than a couple seconds long or have fancy special effects... the worst of it is: some of your intros are better than the movie!!

Ornsack, I loved that 48 hours movie. It made no sense, but made me laugh. Kudos.

Hey, I own a FX1. It is a great, little camera. The only thing that separates it from a prosumer line is the fact it is missing XLR inputs. But if you are recording audio seperately, it doesn't matter anyway. The coloring and correction options are outstanding. The low light capture is remarkable, m...

Just expand the frame so that the sides fit the 16x9 aspect.

Perhaps I ought to toss in you don't want to simply use any colored plastic to throw on a light. Lighting gels are designed to withstand high temperatures. Using something from the kitchen like seran wrap or gift-wrapping supplies will melt and may even catch on fire. Then you've got a problem. You ...

RE: Shooting day for night, Test successful

Personally, it looked like an underexposed daylight scene. :P The first shot worked, but every one after that didn't work for me. The problem is the location has a lot of sunlight shadows. Day for night is tricky in th sense you need to trick the viewer. There is more to the effect than simply darke...

RE: blank firing guns

Model Gun Company is a BAD choice for the amatuer filmmaker. You will end up with very expensive, nice looking guns, that sound and look like cr** when fired. They aren't designed for functionality. You would be far better off buying a real gun and blank adapting it. Probably cheaper, too. You can f...

Studying only gets you so far. What is the point in having knowledge if you aren't applying it to something? Experience cannot be learned from reading. Period.

The reason it has a narrow depth of field is because they had to use a BIG lens to capture that much light. They probably had to find a film with the lowest ISO they could get their hands on, that doesn't have an excessively grainy appearance. Even with the DVX, you will not be able to get quite eno...

You won't find a higher end camera for less than a thousand dollars, or at least one that offers manual functions. For now, focus on the creative aspect of your projects. Keep saving your cash until you have about twice that, then get yourself a real decent piece of equipment!

It is typically a small gunpowder charge, electronically detonated. Squibs are a simple concept, but generally dangerous. Lethal if inexperienced. This is why technitions are hired to install such explosives.
