Mac or PC?

Apple make the best editing software, for 800 quid you can get final cut studio which does video and sound editing and basic CGI and animation with the bundled software.

For PC, you can use adobe premiere which is about £500

RE: What is the best Printer for your DVD Cover Inserts??

I made this cover... http://www.peter-hoare.co.uk/Projects/images/staple%20002.jpg http://www.peter-hoare.co.uk/Projects/images/staple%20003.jpg (This is just a DVD cover, not an actual film.) I think the main factor that gives you good DVD covers is the software you use. I used adobe photoshop, and...

DVD Studio Pro

Hi, Final Cut Studio arrived, and DVD studio pro is a fantastic little program. The only thing that has annoyed me would be that its not an actual graphics program, you need to create the graphics in photoshop or fireworks or something and then use DVD studio to do the linking and menus. If you can ...

Hi, the desk is usualy covered in tapes ant time sheets, i tidied it up for the phot :-) the macbook is ok, not a serious editing machine though. I put most of it down to the lack of ram, its still only got the standard 512mb in it, if you look at the system analizer thing FCP maxes the ram out. You...

RE: Transition Help

Hmm, you could create the image in photoshop or some other program and use FCP. motion or shake to animate it so it zooms into frame. You can then ad a simple wipe behind the grapic to make the transition. Im pretty sure i could do that with not too many problems.... what editing software do you use?

I have one of each of the macs. I have a powermac G5 with powerPC processors and a macbook (black one) with an intel duo core processor. The intel seems just as good... the only prob is that photoshop has to run over rosetta on hte macbook.... so its abit slow

Heres another example of how good the apple software is. I created teh iDent in photoshop and final cut pro but the DVD menu I made with the bundled iDVD which comes with osX. It has produced an extreamly clean dvd menu. Try doing that with premiere and paint ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SS9z2...

the Sanyo exactii HD1 can record at 60fps.

If you want super slowmo, you would need a proper hispeed camera, such as teh olympus iSpeed system. I have used these before and they are stunning.

You would however be looking at atleast £20,000 for a proper highspeed camera.

RE: what is a good way to shoot out fake blood?

Ive mdae them before, the best way is with some 15mm copper pipe. Attach it to a pressure vessel such as an old fire exitnguisher or some 22mm pipe. Pump it up to about 150psi and open the ball valve.

I have also made pyrotechnic ones but this is generally a bad idea.
