RE: Re: RE: Color Correction Tests

Very interesting. In the case of many shots, color correction is really just a tint, saturation, and levels added. So in that aspect you did well. Nice music too...what was it? It sounded like Edgen.

It's hardly a carbon copy. Final Cut came out in 1999 for the first time, as far as I can tell from wikipedia. Premiere has been out for much, much longer. I would say Final Cut is a copy of Premiere! But seriously, all editing programs are similar in at least some aspects...because they all do the ...

RE: Re: RE: The buildup

I thought it was good. The fact that the exposure is set to the sky adds a cinematic flair to it - as you cannot see the face it adds a mysterious dimension to it. The zoom is rather cheesy - like a low budget 70s movie - but that was likely the effect you wanted. So good job on being able to replic...

What's original in this waving camera and zooming? I was referring to other shots as original - I have stated that the waving camera was an after thought and, as this is a rough copy, was mainly added as a sort of motion storyboard to show the actions in the final version. If it's subjective camera...

The DV Rebel's Guide is quite helpful and interesting, written by an amateur filmmaker just like ourselves.

Pans are sort of "where the hell.... aaah here you are, naughty actor". This first swish-pan was terrible just like this at 49 second. Yes, that shot was for as an after-thought to show that zombies are now roaming the area. It is not integral, and thus is not shot as one. I wouldn't use ...

If you want to have more recording time on your tapes, then go ahead. As far as miniDV goes, I have used LP numerous times. There isn't much loss, but I know there is some. It's kind of like SP=high quality wav file while LP=lower quality mp3 file. If you use mp3(aka LP) then you fit more on, but at...

RE: lp or sp

LP means basically that the camera is recording somewhat slower in order to fit more data on the tape. It lowers the quality in order to fit it all on. SP is high quality with less recording time while LP is more recording time at a loss of quality.

It can be done with After Effects or even an editing program. You will need to do some Photoshop work, and do some split screen, but it can be done quite effectively.

I believe that this was done using that technique.

You have to learn a lot about editing and camera work. It looks like you didn't want to have actors in frame. Some lighting could be usefull. :?: I believe that my editing was done quite well, taking advantage of the shots I had. I personally believe that my camerawork here (for the latter clip) wa...

Firstly... HOLY s***! That's one nice camera.
lol. Thanks, I have to agree.

I will continue work on this, and some more suspense will be good. I'll see what I can do.

More scenes will be filmed after a few week hiatus.

I don't think so. Adobe Production is really high end, and thus requires a high end computer. This one only has Intel Celeron D. Celeron is one of the most low end processors on the Intel line. From wikipedia: "It should also be stated that unlike the Pentium D, the Celeron D is not a dual core...

Yeah...Well, it's the opening scene, so I wanted it to have a more stylized look than action. This scene is meant to draw the viewer in, then the action comes in BAM BAM BAM.

But thanks!

UPDATE!

Update! We filmed last night. Due to cloudy weather and other things, we were unable to film a redone dialogue of the boat scene. However, we filmed the opening sequence, in which an unwary kid is attacked by two zombies... Some behind the scenes pics: The director points out a location http://i188....

Also try ACER support, an even better bet there, or the maximum pc forums...this goes alot deeper than a movie forum - it looks like its an all o...

New Docudrama on National Boat Race!

Well, I was just going to take some footage for a friend. He was racing in a National Boat Race on Lake Erie. However, it evolved into something bigger and hopefully better. I already had experience in making scifi, action, and horror films...so I might as well get some experience with a docudrama. ...
