Didn't they use this effect in Ghostbusters, with green candles? "He slimed me!" I went into my post office today. It was it's usual humiliating experience - It stinks of baby puke and pee, the line is always 50 people long, and the service always includes insults. I ask the guy behind the...

Good point, movies these days seem to be written around effects, rather than a good storyline!

Go cardboard cutouts, go!

Hmmmm, I wonder if anyone has ever made a movie based inside a yogurt pot?

Yeah, and while you're about it, CG the cinema, and CG the audience, and definetly CG the popcorn - I had some recently, and it was off!

But the old school way would defenetly look really funny cheesy.
That's exactly the effect I like to achieve! Like in Earth Vs. The Flying Saucer Men! Special effects you can giggle at are just as good as special effects you wow at!

You're right Foxwood, but mine is a spoof version - BB doesn't need to punch anyone, he just threatens them verbally, and they wilt from his bad breath!

Man, he's got some bad a** Muther f****** breath!

If it's a black van, then all you need is red carpet tape!

Rental van huh - So it won't have leather seats, front and rear a/c, cruise control, a TV and DVD player, etc, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah!

You do have a bus, and you do have someone who's been hit by it, you just don't realise it yet! Couple of camera angles, throws the viewer's perception out: Wait for the number 10 to Frenchay (Does that still run?) to come past. Just before it approaches, position your stooge on the pavement (sidewa...

Isn't there an Imax cinema by Waterloo Station in London? Just think I used to walk through there every day on the way to college begging harassed and verbally assaulted by drug addicts and social dropouts, and now that area is a cinema!

I could be completely wrong about the connection speed being the problem. Ornsack made a comment about this somewhere else. I'm still analogue editing myself, so it's literally a question of what you see if what you get! Camcorder hooked up to a VCR! Hopefully by Christmas, I'll be back in the digit...

I actually shot 90% of my film at the same location. No-one that saw the film new the difference.
Well, I never knew the difference either - Probably cuz I never saw the film I guess! LOL!

Grant, does your I-Team have a real helicopter scene in it, and BB Baracus (BB=Bad Breath)?

Okay, now I'm getting confused:

How can the victim hear the bullets flying by if he's dead. I have made assumptions here!

Also, the bullet is so small, therefore the noise it would make from the air-displacement would be minuscule, compared with the bang from the gun firing in the first place!
:)

I have a fantastic method for electric fire-crackers, and remote detonation, but I'm not posting it here until Matt says he's interested in it, and posts it as a tutorial! It's my own method I created for exploding balloons, but I found it worked with small explosives and flammable as well! If anyon...

Stick a photo of the actors onto a bit of cardboard, cut it out, then with the camera running, throw the cutout into frame! Or dangle them on a piece of string!

The connection method (USB or Firewire, or back in my day, parallel of serial!) only affects the speed that the data is transferred between the camera and the computer. The poor quality comes from something else, here's a few suggestions as to the cause: 1. If you're using a video capture card on th...

If you're working with non-firing guns, don't forget to mimic the slight kick from the gun when you fire it.

Especially so for shotguns, and small rocket launchers.

You can make rocket launchers from old yogurt pots!
