Build a Van De Graf generator - You can make one out of a few household materials! That way, you have have real electrical arching effects that you can composite straight onto the shot! Oh, and it's also great for a hair-standing-on-end type effect!!! http://www.binghamton.edu/physics/images/V...

YUK, That sounds really good. Nice one! However just to add some more difficulty, (Purely because that seemed too easy for y'all), how about extending the blade first from the knife and then drawing it across the hand??? HAH! Gotcha there! Does anyone read black on black text? "Poo! Fart Bum!&qu...

I have an alternative method that doesn't involve pulling wires. It uses my very own detonator system that I designed for exploding balloons, which I have yet to tell anyone about - I want it to be public domain, but have to wait until the time is right! I shall post it when I've uploaded some of th...

Razor Knife Drawing Blood Effect

Okay, how do they do that? Ever seen the film "No Man's Land" about these Porsche-stealing car stealers? Well, there's a scene when this dude gets handcuffed, and some other dude draws a razor knife over the back of his hand, and loads of blood oozes out as he does it! YUK! It's awful! So ...

If you want fat meaty sparks, use a welder! May have to add a few filters over the lens to protect the camera's iris. Probably a good idea anyway if you want to edit the rest of the picture out for a composite!:P

Girls are certainly a different type of person to us guys! I find that some reward is usually motivation enough! And you've gotta make them feel special, cuz they are! But the question is why are they not making these movies? You'd think they'd make films with plots like Barbie and Sindy kicking but...

Anyone remember that huge fireball at the Oil Refinery in Gamera - Guardian Of The Universe? Here's how you can make one on your scale model: It's reasonably dangerous - you wouldn't want to have anyone present, because there's a strong possibility of severe burns. Also, it may take about 10 mins to...

I managed to get some girls involved in my A-Team spoof movie, but were mainly interested in the food-fight scene at the local Kebab Shop!

Don't Girls Make B-Movies?

It's just an observation of mine, hopefully I'll be proved completely wrong, but why does it seem to be mainly us lads who are making amateur films?

If this is the case, why so?

LOL! You should wait outside my local pub, just after closing on a Friday night! You'll always get some chanting there by folks who haven't quite made it home after a long night's drinking! :D More seriously, the game Populus had chanting, you could use something like that!:o [Edited on 19-7-2003 by...

Okay, I'm posting twice, slap on hand type thing, but I couldn't resist it! I just remembered the recipe for a very cheap Home Made Smoke Bomb: 1. Get 2 boxes of matches 2. Tear the friction striker strips off the outer sleeves of both boxes, and glue them into the inside trays. 3. Snap off all the ...

You can buy smoke matches from Party shops! I have some because I'm a cumyxaphist, and a philumenist! They look very similar to the waterproof matches that used to come in the old army rations packs that we had at school (The ones with the constipation biscuits!)!!!!!!:o!!!!! Anyway, they say smokin...

It's not that difficult! All you need is a few sheets of wood, some scissors and cowgum! Actually, forget the cowgum, cuz that'll dissolve in the water! Get 3 sheets of 6'X12' OSB (Oriented Strand Board). Bolt 'em together, so they're looking like a 6'X35' runway! Now all you need to do is to attach...

You've probably seen this done, but cardboard boxes make a great impact buffer! If you're actually going to jump off a balcony or a low bridge, make sure they're going to be placed where you're going to fall, with at least 2M of boxes surrounding the impact site all around! They all need to be the s...

Here's the URL of my Master's web-site! Wing Chun is a form of Kung-Fu, aimed for close-quarters combat! By the way, Kung-Fu is supposed to be for defensive fighting, not offensive fighting! The website has some cool video clips, that you can look at, showing how the moves are made. They're quite ea...

DO NOT WEAR SYNTHETIC CLOTHES when doing your crazy stunt! They'll flash into flame within seconds, and melt into your skin causing unimaginably bad burns! If you're looking to transfer the computer game footage to video (Copyright allowing of course), there's plenty of graphics cards which have got a TV out socket. I agree with using a sparkler, You can get them for most party-shops, and they don't cost much! Alternatively, you could get an old piece of scrap metal, and an angle grinder - loads of sparks there! Make sure you clamp that scrap metal down though! Don't want to create some unwanted gore effects!!!...
