RE: Color Correction Tests

Realistic would usually be probably just a hint of yellow, a hint of saturation and the blacks 'crushed' ever so slightly (maybe using curves to bring out the mid tones a bit) But yeah, looks good. Not sure if it deserves a whole thread because to you it's whatever your creative juices feel (unless ...

More Ram Chortles

I'm getting 1gb of RAM this weekend to replace my 256mb of RAM. I have three slots so I was gonna keep the 256mb stick in there but I'm told that having RAM of varying speeds (the 500mb or whatever sticks are faster than the 256mb) can mess things up a bit Is it such a crime? Is it really not worth ...

LP doesn't do anything about the frame rate, it's to do with the speed that data is written to a tape

I don't mind using LP for holiday videos etc but I try not to use it. Apart from an extra half hour of recording time, that's about the only pro vs a whole list of cons

Yeah it would be nice to see a before/after. Because to us, that was just a very yellow video of some random dogs!

Generic but nicely done.

Don't slow down CGI in post though, it makes it look like interactive CD ROM CGI from the mid 90's ;)

RE: Re: Processor Vs Ram

I'm not upgrading right now, I was just confused by the results of my (itwasntatestreallyjustsomethingIstumbledupon) test

I have a gig of ram coming my way via a mate in about a months time and I was just excited that it could make all the difference (compared to my poor 256mb ram)

Re: RE: Grindhouse look

The best plugin I've seen for that kinda effect is 'Cinelook' for After Effects. Sadly renders are more like those of a 3D package than a grading package, so long films could take weeks! Well considering they actually shot it on film Nearly! Remember Rodriguez doesn't shoot on film any more ;) (alth...

Processor Vs Ram

I rendered something the other day on a computer with half the processor speed of my PC, but the same amount of ram, and it took roughly the same amount of time Vegas seemed a bit slower with its renders, but is ram the most important factor when it comes to 3D rendering? (I understand that upgradin...

I use Windows Movie Maker for capture.

Sounds odd, but it's the only program I know that has never dropped frames in my experience

Just downgrade Premiere for now (like 6.1)

It'll run much better than trying to run Premiere Pro on an old pc

Not your guy's cup of tea, eh? Think it's just a case of clips not going down well on here, especially if people get the impression of a dialogue clip. I win though because I commented on the actual YouTube page before noticing it on here (which I did about 3 seconds ago and couldn't believe the th...

RE: Earth explosion

Massive improvement! I'd say the asteroid should come in from above or something, as it seems a bit odd suddenly appearing. The Earth explosion is a lot better but I still think it needs more debris coming from it as it appears to vanish. And the moon still looks wrong. Oh and the earth's spinning s...

Get some black dye. Stick the coat in it.

It'd probably be easier to buy a black coat.
