RE: Tips on creating moving blue screen shots...

MT is a process of tracking some pixels that are different then the rest of the screen: it could be bright balls, black and white checkers. Tracking of blank screen is impossible. The second one is the simplest way but is hard to make the walk to look realistic when you walk on the spot. Maybe if yo...

These balls are tracking reference points. They are for match CG background movements to movements of real camera. Search the net (and AE help) for Motion Tracking

RE: Re: RE: When working with CGI Models in Live Action sett

AP and AE can import a sequence of numbered bitmaps as a one clip. In AP just select first file (with lowest number) and you'll see an acitvated checkbox "bitmap sequence" (or something like this) - mark it and AP will import all bitmaps from this sequence. You don't have to select all of ...

RE: Greenscreen Lighting/backlit green screen?

You need large greenscreen - the actor should be at least 3 meters from it. You need also a two sets of lights.: one to lit the green screen - the other one to lit the actor. Actor must be lit with shadowless light - from above.

RE: Re: RE: When working with CGI Models in Live Action sett

When I have to mix some CG with live action I use two ways: - render all in 3D Studio with live action video as a background (the simpler cases) or - exposrting everything as a TIFF sequence (they have Alpha channel already) It's good when you have unstable system - if something goes wrong (system c...

Chromanator is a nice, little software. AE is for serious proffesionals. Comparing is sensless. It's like comparing MiniMorris to Lamborghini.

RE: Re: After Effects. Easy?

Premiere is an editing program: cutting, color corretion, transitions and that kind of stuff. AE is advanced program to composing - it's simmilar to the Photoshop a little bit. You can control every pixel of the screen. It's dedicatet to creating special effects. Download a trial and you'll see the ...

Go to Adobe site and order a free cd with video tutorials that explains basis of AE. AE requiers some trainig at the beginning but it's very powerfull tool and quite simple. I tried to work with Combustion and it's to complicated for me (maybe I'm Adobe addicted) If you're expecting something like A...

In AE there are Masks and Mattes: Masks are Bezier Curves that selects area of screen which should be transparent and Mattes are sort of Bitmaps which provides information about transparency by using greyscale pixels. Go to Adobe site and order Free CD with video lessons of AP and AE - all you need ...

What a lazy people are these days... If you working with video equipment (DV) the answer is NO. I made such a tests and the results were so-so (to be honest - they were lousy). If saber is thick, close to camera, perfectly lit and DON'T MOVE FAST it looks not so bad but sword fight is impossilble to...

Muy bien, amigo!

Short an funny. The work of camera could be better (more different angles and use tripod) but I like it anyway.
But do something with sound. I pumped volume up so much that when I played another film I woke up everyone in the house.

You should throw away those fadings. Fade to black is a way to finish a SCENE or SEQUENCE. If you must - use cross dissolving. This scene is a bit too long. She's cleanig off the blood and... nothing changes. There's no close-ups. If you want to add some tension you need to use more camera angles. T...
