Ah yes, because the technical aspects of your work are the pinnacle of amateur movie-making achievement, something we should all strive for. What robosays21 has done here is taken footage from a camera that I'm guessing cost a lot less than $1000, and make it look as if it came from a much more prof...

It's nothing to rave over, but it's certainly an improvement over the original footage, and if you aren't looking for it to really pop at the viewer, and be more of a subtle thing I'd say it's perfect.

VAMPIRES OMG AWESOME!!! CAPS LOCK YAY!!! Or in easier to understand language, shut up, you aren't contributing anything to this discussion. As far as the original post goes, I would actually recommend the (mock?) advice from Epsilon's last post, and build your own. A Thompson is a fairly simple shap...

RE: The Doghouse Shootout - 2 minute gunfight short

It was actually pretty good. As far as things I didn't like, the muzzle flashes were too opaque, and not varied enough, and the sounds were a little stale by the end. I really liked the camera work after the first little bit of unsteadiness, and the grading was very nice. The moustache and goatee on...

Not where I'm from, the pancakes contain less actual "food" than the styrofoam box they come in here. *shudder*

Agreed, the bacon and eggs go down first, followed by the sweet, sweet embrace of pancakes drenched in syrup. Also: anybody who orders pancakes from McDonalds derserves their inevitable fate.

RE: PLEASE HELPPPP ME WITH A BLOOD EFFECT!!!

My best sugestion for such a complicated effect would be to take a look at the special features from the 2004 remake of "Dawn of the Dead". Theres a pretty extensive featurette there on the chainsaw scene from that movie.

RE: PLEASE HELPPPP ME WITH A BLOOD EFFECT!!!

Welcome to the site! A bit more info might help. Can a real chainsaw be used? Where on the arm is the cut to be made; right at the shoulder, or halfway between the elbow and wrist? Does the actor have to, uh... act in the scene? That is, do they have to move around and interact, or can it be a sort ...

When I see them I think Half-Life headcrab, as Rhys said, they need teeth and lots of 'em. As for a name, you could call them something very simple an uncreative, but have the scientist refer to them in a very loving tone. As in: "Number 43! Get down from there! Stop chewing on the man's throat...

That was pretty good, the slight unsteadiness to the shots suited the style quite well. Also, freeboarding looks hella cool, though I just know I could kiss 90% of my skin goodbye were I to try it.

From the pics you posted it seems you spray-tagged the factory, then took pictures of it, and posted them on the internet to a public forum!!. You are one of those moronic teens normal people read about in the newspaper aren't you?

Gun sounds lifted from Counter Strike by any chance? The trailer looked okay-ish to me, nothing remarkable besides some of the location shots. Hope you watched out for HIV infected needles though... shudder.

Flashes were waaayyy too big. The pistol weren't too bad, but the dark edge just looked wierd; you can't have black fire. And the flash from the rifle was enormous, with the same outline problem. The smoke wasn't bad, but as ALove said, too opaque.

RE: McDonalds

My friend was (formerly) employed at McDonalds. He told me how one time he came into work, and as he got to the back one of his co-wokers says "watch this" and procedes to flip a pickle into the air with a burger flipper, then catch it in his mouth. He says (with a mouthful of pickle) &quo...
