In the mold makers handbook I saw a tutorial on this. It had something like layers of liquid latex on the bottle then a 2 part plaster mold around that so you could easily pour andremovie it, rent the book sometime.

I'd say to use your own techniques, make some up along the way. It will give you your own style instead of having people directing it for you.

Is the movie serious or do you like to run around with a camera with a sped up voice?

I have a D8 handycam and theres really no difference between it and miniDV except D8 cameras are usually of lower quality but the tapes aren't as expensive as mini.

I'm pretty sure I'm filming most of it but I'd think you would need the actual boat for a 3d rep of it sinking.

Nooby microphone question

So I'm pretty sure I'm buying the HV-20 and have noticed it has a mic input, not XLR just regular mic. I don't know how to buy a microphone for this, do I search for a camcorder mic with what kind of cable? I'm confused :?

Looks good, only thing I didn't like were the 2 hits the girl gave to the car, looked to me like dust somehow came off.

Did you also use a consumer miniDV and fix the look in AE?

Yeah, I'm using FCP5 which I'm pretty sure will work with it. The "running shutter" is barely visible unless you put the camera on something that vibrates, and the 1/2.7 CMOS sensor is said to be like 3 CCD's.

I've been looking for a new camera for a year now and have found the Canon HV-20, does anyone know if this is a good choice for $1,000?

I don't think finding a cheap one is a good idea nor is making one, I'm pretty sure you can't buy it anywhere legally because it could give you an advantage against armed policemen.
