hey, rhys, I wouldn't have thought that of you! the first half was full of naked chicks and the second presented exagerrated, over-the-top gut wrenching gore, and you DIDN'T LIKE IT? and it's called a quentin tarantino film because he's the executive producer  personnally, I liked it. ...

http://www.simreal.com/twiki2/bin/view.pl/Simreal/DissectedLeg this can be usefull. but personnally, for such a thing, I would visit my local butcher and get the scraps. you can have meat, sinew, fat, organs and things like that almost if not totally free! just build up the scraps until it seems ok....

I don’t know the deferent’s between latex and foam latex, both I guess. That’s a good link may I have some more. latex is plain ol' natural rubber. foam latex is, well, foamed latex;) http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Lot/9373/SCREAM/ltxmask.html all in all, it's simple. sculp...

Well, thanks alot for understanding. It means alot to know that other people know that i'm trying the best I can with my limited resources. What type of mike should i get, for, say the $50-$100 range? where can i get a boom? many of our shots are 10-15 feet away from actors, not up in their faces, ...

well, there isn't much "best" camera, here, because most cameras under 400$ are pretty crappy, if you want my opinion. you're better to buy one good camera than many cheap ones.

RE: LOOKING FOR SOUND EFFECT
good lord, another revival of one of my topics! it's the third time this week!
as you say, it's probably just a violin... now the job will be to find the good violin sound! but i'm not in a hurry, so I have plenty of time to look for it. thanks!

RE: Latex Skin
pretty easy effect to do, if you ask me. buy liquid latex(mask latex is the best, but plain ol' mold latex that you can find in any art store will do the trick) and spread it on a smooth surface. you want it to be as long as your abdomen and twice as wide. when the latex is dry, powder it leaving a ...

RE: Old Film Look
the easiest way is to apply the old movie effect on your clip in windows movie maker. then, import it into premiere, and, (if it's possible, I don't know the program), using color balance, add a slight sepia tint to your clip. a thing to do is to very slightly accelerate the movie at some points, to...

RE: neo vs. smith ripple effect?
if you're talking about distortion in the air, use displacement mapping with a wavy texture. if you talk about neo's face getting distorted from the strenght of the punch, well this effect was done in cgi, so animate a distorted face using your favorite 3d program, and composite it over your actors ...

RE: indeed..
oh, life casting? then it might be a problem... in a one piece mold, it'll probably tear, and gelatin liquid enough to make the mold will be scolding hot, near boiling point. unless you want to burn yourself, pay a few bucks more and buy alginate.

RE: thanks!
that's true when you don't coat the mold with mold release. but why you would cast ANYTHING from a plaster mold without mold release is beyond me. a thin layer of vaselin is all you need; the oil in it seals the plaster so no water from the gelatin gets absorbed. and btw, the topic is not about cast...
