Machinima music video

I dunno, felt like editing something, so I took some machinima footage that's been lazing around my hard drive and made a music video using the song Pure by Jimmy's Chicken Shack (which means it doesn't have a concept or point. Deal with it.) Didn't put that much work into it, only an hour or two, b...

Try charcoal. It should have that burnt quality, and still easily washes off.

My record is a few weeks. But that didn't count sex, just jerkin off. What was this thread about again? Oh yeah. Pretty much everything I was thinking Lawrie said - take criticism, chill and take a zanecs or something, blah blah blah. But if you want a fun game, try this. Take two shots of whiskey (...

Meh. If you want to be really original, use knife fighting techniques with kitchen knives, and martial arts with something like a metal broomstick. I'm gonna be honest with you, Vinsore sounds a little boring, and I think it has something to do with the adolescents with disproportionately large blad...

Dude, rhys, quit being so damned whiny all the time. People don't like your movies, get over it. Grow up a little, start acting more graceful than the rest of the kids your age.

I effing loved this movie. Hilarious, great music, effects, ESPECIALLY with the explosions and blood. Any chance you'd put the entire soundtrack up on your site?

Love both of those series, putting together the I TEAM and UDDS was fricking brilliant :)

Thanks. No, I didn't model them, they're already in the game. And no, the narrator isn't me, it's part of the song. Sounds kind of like Laurence Fishburne...

Escape by Craig Armstrong is from the soudntrack to Plunkett and MacCleane.

Best suggestion I have is Human Nature by Eric Serra, from The Fifth Element.

Harmonice Mundi

I doubt many of you will find this very interesting, but I'm thinking some of you will enjoy it. I've been reading a lot of Arthur C. Clarke and listening to out-there celestial music, and I wanted to try my hand at creating celestial dreamscapes - this is essentially a test to try out techniques wi...

Lawrie, I'm not saying that learning from studying movies is a bad idea, I never did. I said that if you're looking to stretch boundaries and do some new stuff, it helps to know what's been done, what hasn't - which you can only find out by studying the movies that have already been made. It's a goo...

Oh God, not The Thin Red Line again... Jesus that movie was garbage. With the technical aspect of things, yeah reading is involved, never said you can't do your learning from reading up on the different aspects of filmmaking - but you aren't going to learn how to work a camera by watching Citizen Ka...

Thanks Chris. And yeah the guns were blank firing. Basically, I guess there's nothing wrong with doing these fights, as long as you're willing to improve and learn from them. You seem like you're serious about being a filmmaker, so that makes it all the more important that you take criticism more gr...

Like others, I both disagree and agree with the points you're making. Disagree - you don't have to understand, or even know of the history of cinema to be a great filmmaker - it just helps when you're starting out. The only real thing that will help you to improve is practice (particularly with cine...

You want comments, but you don't care what anybody else says..

Make up your damn mind, kid :P

Also, the "fine points" like editing, acting, believability, are what making movies pretty much entirely consist of, so these are the things you should be working on.

Thanks Lawrie, for some great advice, and Mr. Anderson, for a little encouragement. The Insomniac FULL FILM DOWNLOAD

Yup, we finally finished a movie. This is one that we'd like to take around to local festivals, as well as enter it into IFC's Media Lab competition. It's simplistic, I'm not going to lie - just a guy who can't get any sleep, that realizes that being an insomniac isn't as bad as it's cracked up to b...
