The scariest thing you can do is attack the mind - never show a scary act happening, cut out right before a grisly murder is about to happen, play mind games with your audience. A perfect example of this is 'The Mothman Prophecies.' That was one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. And above all e...

I've had the same problem too. You need to have the latest version of the DivX player open, then drag the file you want to watch into the DivX screen. But I've always burned my movies on DVD; much easier than recording to tape.

Wearing a ski mask and holding an AK47 in the middle of a conservative rural Iowa town, on the Fourth of July with American flags lining the streets. If I didn't have the AK, I'm positive I would've been lynched. But other than that, I haven't done any really crazy physical things. Not yet at least.

I personally think that the thing that is most twisted/funny/disturbing is the thing you don't see. You see a guy level a gun at a guy's head, and then put a loud gunshot right as you cut from that to another scene. Much more effective in my opinion, but if it's something like a shootout, use as muc...

One of the best things about America is that there aren't any strict national gun laws. The only state where assault rifles are banned from sale is California, and only a few more states prohibit the use of replica guns. That's the only reason I like living in Iowa; we have zero truly strict gun laws.

I usually take about three cherry bombs, tie the fuses together and half bury them in a mound of dirt. It's always worked for me, but I guess your method's much safer than mine.

I remember when I had a cap pistol that looked like a nine millimeter. Ah, those were the days. Now I have to order the bastards online instead of just strolling on in to a toy store and forking over fifteen bucks.

I really need to get more powerful software - the slowmotion on the program I use is controlled simply a slider, but the end effect is never as slow as you want it to be. And if you slow it down all the way, export it and slow it down again, it just get's damned choppy. [Edited on 5-8-2003 by SgtPad...

I would take a sledge to something soft - some meat if you can find enough, or just use a watermelon.

No offense, but I've always been glad I don't live in Australia. Censorship is practically a government body over there.

Ouch, that sounds like it's out of my price range. The budget for my film as it stands is already around 270 dollars (weaponry), and that's already serious pushing me. I guess it'll have to wait until I can scrape the money together.

Adobe Premiere

Does anyone know where to buy it, and how much it costs? It sounds like it's a really powerful tool, and I'd like to start using it instead of the stuff that came preinstalled on my computer.

The fight scenes my friends and I have done in the past were realistic (I thought) without adding sound. That was mostly because it was all improv; we'd go all out full speed + full contact a lot of the time. You should've seen what we did with the swiffer vs. mop kung fu scene.

I don't know about gun laws in England. Maybe there's a website you can look up legislatures on. It should be okay; I don't see why blank guns would be illegal, as long as they're shipped with orange tips on the muzzles. As long as they're not discharged in a populated area, then there shouldn't be ...

Blank firing guns aren't illegal to own if you're under 18 because they cannot be modified to fire real bullets, and they don't require a permit either, it's just that most of the sites you buy them from require you to be over 18 or 21, because well, they look exactly like real ones and some dumb 12...

Color schemes

My next film is currently in pre production (an action movie with lots of sarcasm), and I was wondering if anybody knew of some affordable software that can do color schemes, because I wanted to make the film about as gritty as Narc was. Any help would be appreciated.
