All it needs is a paint job to get rid of that camo!

I would go with the wood. At living history events we have one .30 cal made out of wood; people can't tell the difference. Hell, until we were told, WE thought it was real.

They did the same thing for Freddy vs. Jason. Basically they greenscreened the girl out of the foreground and repeated the camera move. You also can't not have a greenscreen. Any solid color will do. I used a bed sheet for my "greenscreen." It also doesn't have to be green, as long as it's...

Neither is "better!" They are both the same!
Not really true. Some are stronger in different areas. Plus people adapt to different programs better than they do to others.

They all do more or less the same thing, but keep in mind they are different programs so you should probably demo them before you decide on one.

A bit too fish-eyed for my tastes.... but maybe I'm seeing things. Other than that pretty solid beyond other points made.

Best PQ

What do you guys think is the best looking DVD out there?

I would vote for Criterion's The Rock due to it's incredible amount of details that show up. I mean, it feels like I'm watching HD here! Superbit's The Fifth Element is also very good.

Das Boot had a rather good commentary especially considering they had nearly 3 and a half hours to fill. The commentary on Total Recall with Schwarzenegger and Verhoeven is hilarious (Arnold: *laughs* I used him as a human shield then I threw him down the stairs! Verhoeven: Yes, it's funny because h...

I'd advise against explosives simply due to safety issues. Compressed air works well. I did a filmshoot last week where they filled PVC with dirt and foam pieces and blasted that out. Worked great.

They "could" sue you yes, it is a legal possibilty. But if money does not change hands, the probability of it is slim enough to make me not worry about it. And to be honest, the majority of people out there do not seem to care all that much. Lucas is perfectly alright with people using the...

So that means that all these movies that come out with no original music are also being "lazy?" Watch Forrest Gump and you'll see what I mean.

Raptor, while that is true, we are talking about two guys making an amatuer film. If they are posting it on a forum such as this, there is nothing realistically illegal about that. I had uncopyrighted music in my movie too, it's not a huge deal. Technically, it is illegal, but this is the real world...

Well if you plan to post your film here on the web you shouldn't use either of those songs. There is this thing called copyright laws. For one: If someone felt like coming across your film who had the rights to the song they could sue you for breach of copyright. For two: Honestly it looks unprofes...

That's just sad. These must be the same people that choke to death on ballpoints.

Honestly, I can't see how they could do that unless they were trying.

AFAIK you need a card that can connect with a VCR, like an S-Video or something.

Also, don't use USB unless you can't help it. It gives you really shitty quality.

i'm guessing it has something to do with the speed of sound vs speed of light over long distances You got it. It really freaked people out in England during WWII. That's for rockets though. If you're doing a mortar scene, Battleground should be required viewing as it contains actual sounds from WWI...

Oh, just a tip upon thinking about it. After the explosion sounds fade, add in a sound of a missile whining towards it's target (trust me, that's really what happens).
