Well after researching a little bit after I posted I guess I had that coming, lol
Would a 1080i/p signal be able to be downconverted when I import it? I'm looking more at the consumer line of HD cameras.

720p Camcorder

Recently I decided I'd spend the extra cash and upgrade from my DV camcorder. I figured if I decide to do independent filming after high school (99% chance), I'd have an HD camcorder. I am looking for one that is capable of recording 720p, as my computer is not the fastest. Does anyone know of a 720...

Not to... uh... 2005 this was posted? It's kinda cool that you resurected a post about zombies but seriously...

And it is kind of contradictory to post this but whatever; I'm tired.

RE: The Freesound Project

Thanks, and as you can see in my sig CoM=Great lol
The only thing is the search engine of it, the tag system kinda bugs me, and I couldn't really find any decent explosions. The request section in the forum will be useful though.

RE: Editing HD on a G4

I think I've done that before. I'm test-editing an HD movie trailer to see if my computer can handle it.

Editing HD on a G4

I'm probably going to get a HD Camera this summer (with a summer job) and was wondering if there's a way to downconvert it, while editing, and then upconvert it to its full res. My Mac probably can't handle editing HD, as it is 2 generations behind what is on the market today. And to Mac users, does...

Kind of in a "reporter" style, like a news report would read. Not with any particular emotion, but not a bored voice either.

Dialogue Request

Hey, I'm looking for someone to record this dialogue. It will play before a song, and during the intro of it. The dialogue is from the (amazing) movie "Children of Men", it's from the beginning of the movie, said by two anchors for a news story. Thanks in advance! Heres the dialogue: Day 1...

The Freesound Project

"Children of Men" was the first major film to use a sound effect from this site, which is how I found it (Amazing movie btw). Theres a forum where you can request sounds too. It's a really cool site, and the sounds are free and royalty-free, if you use a sound though you have to credit the...

Finally, another Mac user!
iLife is a great set of tools, although if you've tried Premiere/FCE/FCP it's hard to use iMovie, but it's still great for starting out. I don't know of a PC where you can make good sounding music out of the box.

First, I felt like the first shots held on for too long. You might want to edit it down, or reshoot different shots to mix it up a bit. The music throughout was good (was it yours?) but some of the editing of it was a bit too sudden. And it may sound insignificant, but the titles at the beggining co...

"marqx" as a name, how would you say that?
It's not a good idea to have a name that's hard to pronounce/say etc

It's hard to give feedback on such a little part of the script. The dialogue phrasing and stuff is very distracting too.

I don't know about nightcast, but all I've heard is that they are easy to use, but don't look very realistic.

My uncle has Final Cut 1, 3,4,5,HD, and express. To use Final Cut 5 I need to get a better graphics card. He also has the new version of Leopard! He was at the Mac convention and is a Mac geek. Have you seen it and if so how is it? Yeah, I've tried FCP and it's crazy fast with a good graphics card,...

RE: What software do you use?

Final Cut Express HD
Soundtrack
DVD Studio Pro
Photoshop Elements 2

Basic stuff, It's all I really need though. DEDFX, I would get FC, but since you've tried Premiere, give Final Cut a try. What version were you leaning towards?

RE: Fan Film; Need a bit of help getting started.

I would be willing to help. I used to play Doom a long time ago, so I'm not as familiar with D2 as I was.
The intro was good, when/where is it going to take place?

Theres a site called http://www.writing.com where people can put stories/novels etc. up, and people read and review. It's not really a place to post scripts, but if you make an account (free I think) and find a piece of work that you like and review it, you could ask them about making it into a movi...

Exactly. It's not science. To me, it's kind of the point and fun of seeing/making a movie. Who wants to watch or make a movie that is 100% realistic? anyway... I decided to postpone the movie this was foor (called 'Fall of Man') Until I can think of a better name and have more ability and experience...

I think Alove mentioned a program called 'InstantHD' - www.redgiantsoftware.com/instanthd.html that would upscale DV footage to HD. 1080, 720 i think any format really. There's a demo so you can see how it works. Anyway, that plus letterboxing it and adjusting Gamma, black levels etc. would help.
