Gun Recoil

Alright, my family is big ito hunting and shooting, so naturally I grew up around guns and shooting them. Now most people probably aren't as picky as me over this but the recoil of when you shoot is a vital part of selling the shot. I came to the idea of making a tutorial of me and my friends shooti...

Matt, I don't know anything about the DVX, so I am not gonna go there with the white balance and exposure, but I thought it was great. A few things that could be better but nothing that took away from the film. Good ob. Now, lighten up on Kenny a little. He does tell Sean things about his movies. Ma...

RE: Sniper Rifle Scope Shot

You make a black outline of the circle with crosshairs in photoshop or you could even use paint. then you paint the white part where the film will be shown green. Then you just import it, overlay it where you wnat and key out the green. I have a tempalte if you want it.

RE: tv pilot help

Well this would cost a lot of money but, go on an airplane and take a sharpie with you. Grab the barf bag and write on the bottom inside of it, "It's ok, I used thi one too." Then draw a smiley face. Put it back and then when someone goes to use one, offer them yours, vwala! (Spelling) Lau...

Matt, after Brett Died, Sean stood up. I was jsut sayting that in reality that wouldn't work but it didn't detract from the film.

RE: "The Letter" Escape Films

Great job Matt! Only one item. After William was it, died, Frank stood up. It was done beautifully but the point is, you are in battle. Stand up=bigger target. Anyways, nothing major and I don'tt think that it detractedd from the film at all. Just a little FYI.

Have no music. It adds to the reality of battle. Like in Gyro's movie forgotten the only music he during battle was when the main character died.

You could have the person who is supporting the gunner by feeding the bullets through pretty much just move them. Don't keep him in tyhe shot for to long but just very quickly it could look good.

You can also invest in a C.D. with a bunch of loops that you put together. I have just a small demo version of one but it works really good. Plus you don't need to worry about copyright because it is still original.

Re: RE: Actors

Well most of the actors I use also make their own movies. We all share equipment and such. Plus I don't know enough people who are willing to always be behind the camera never seen working equipment. They start out saying they will then about a day into the shoot they are asking for a part in the mo...

What has worked for Gyro in the past was one of those hospital drip bags. You fill that with the blood (or anything, He has used flour to simulate a bullet nody hit.) and then you just hide the bag in your actor's clothes and have the tube sticking out wherever you want it. The actor just squeezes t...

Hmmmm, the music had its good parts and bad. The scene where Tommy throws the rock at the boy, that music seemed a little to jumbled. I could hear drums and a little guitar. The Sax was good but over used. Thats all I saw, well heard. Great job overall.

RE: Actors

When you have your actors on set, and they are just twiddleing their thumbs, I found that getting them to help with stage equipment works really well. Just having them hold the boom or having them carry a set piece on and off and be in charge of checking continuity for certain people while off reall...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Actors

I am working on that right now. It was a complicated role to play. Here is another question. Are on the spot scene changes a good idea? I don't mean just minor changes but, for example, I made up an entire scene on location. I think it will work but I was wondering if doing that a lot was safe or a ...

Yeah, one of my lead actors isn't giving me the chance to show him the vision or even get him to set to guve hm anything. He says and swears he will be there but then says something came up, (usually with other friends) so I don't know how to get him there. I promise him food and drink (his favorite...
