Acting is a professional skill, That's the key thing. Most people's actors on here aren't professionals, they're just friends who want to help out. If anything, telling an 'actor' not to speak like they're reading something and just talk like they normally would is an excellent idea. I know I encou...

yeah but that had money put into it ^.^ But still incredibly simple. Stock blood and a good reaction is all you need. Play around with color settings on the stock and there you go. It's not hard, it's just too many people try to make their blood hits too obvious, have a shitty reaction, or don't tr...

But you want your cuts to be fluid, instead of jarring the audience from each camera's different quality.

If it's a quick enough shot, pull some GoogleEarth and animate it, tweak it a bit and there you go.

Make a cop or street gang movie, then it won't be military! Nah, when someone says that I always think: gunplay. Since most of my stuff centers around that- why not try to do something different? I won't be blessed with all violence oriented projects in the future, so why not get used to it. :) vic...

Maj Barnes, as a filmmaker is stuck in a military rut, nailed to war movies both present and contemporary, (a one trick pony) - this will change - but yet, in terms of editing - and visual style your work is commendable i think and your last short looked very pretty!!! Well damn, I guess I have to ...

Yea, I've been noticing I over use that sepia filter- this was going to be really green, but I threw the sepia on and it looked ten times better.

Thanks. Yea, I kept the firework sounds because they reminded me so much of the MAC10, just lower rate of fire. This came out much more shaky than I wanted it to be- we forgot the tripod: I really know that'd stabilize alot of those moving shots much more, or it was me trying to get the firecrackers...

Mines here is just a great example of how easy it is to make a uni arthouse film lol (uni - meaning a bad arthouse film)
The more you confuse the audience, the better the movie. :P

LMAO! You just forgot the main arty farty thing: it has to be in black and white! This had me falling out laughing, it just seemed like you were on an acid trip or something. But other than that, it looked good!

Short WW2 Movie

Friend from Denmark was in town- so what better way to have fun than pull out all my WW2 cr** that I haven't used in two years, make a bunch of guys wear it and 10 pounds of ammo in Florida's SUMMER weather, having firecrackers exploding on/near them, and deal with me. Originally there was script, b...

What I do is run it through Windows Movie Maker>Other Settings>Highest Quality Video (Highest). Compressed and still looks great! Comes out as a WMV file. Full Quality 3.88gb 640x480 http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/4940/comp20002qf8.jpg Compressed 25.6mb 640x480 http://img404.imageshack.us/img404...
