RE: New Film "Yearning For A Bed"

Nice, Kentertainment. At minute mark 3:25 (on the Google version) you had a really nice tracking shot of him running. Did you take that from a car/bike, etc? Or were you just on foot? Some parts reminded me a lot of "Are You Afraid of my Waffle?" like when the pillow flies in his face. Als...

Wow, you had some incredible shots in there...especially the one on the stairs. Did you composite two seperate shots over each other to get that?

Nice job overall; congratulations on the win.

RE: Youtube vs Google Video

Youtube most definatley appears to have cripser picture quality. It seems like Youtube is more of a community thing where you get people to comment on your work, while Google video is a place to host your work and link to it. I'd probably use Youtube for the picture quality (and lack of crashing my ...

Funny, but I think the subtitles make it a lot less funny for some reason. It's like explaning a joke to somebody before they get it.

If you wan't to be really cheap, get some of those inexpensive metal work lights that clamp onto stuff (they're like what, $6.00?) and blue flood light bulbs ($3.00 at the most). And you have you're blue light that can brighten a small area. I'm sure you could have thought of that.

So, you want to get 'blue' lights, and you're not willing to spend money on them. You asked "Where can I get blue lights?" A lot of people answered your question, but I guess you didn't notice. You can't get blue lights. You can get a powerful halogen lamp and a blue gel to put over it. Or...

RE: Re: RE: Making Clips Look Like Television in Final Cut P

I think his problem is that the matte IS applied to the clip, so that it is edited with the clip...and I don't think that's what he wants. So you need to find a way to lay the matte 'over' the clip instead of apply it to it, right?

RE: Making Clips Look Like Television in Final Cut Pro

There's a free plugin for Final Cut called "Pay TV," or something like that, that lets you adjust the amount of degradation of your image. It looks great if you get it right. But I can't remember the link for the plugin...sorry :(. I'll let you know if I find it. Are you applying your wide...

Get some blue gels and put them in front of flood lights...or use a blue lightbulb.

Zac, I think the original idea was to have a bunch of different 'clips' from news brodcasts/home videos around the country showing various zombie attacks.

I like the idea of different genres for different days. Monday could be drama, because it's starting a new week, and Friday could be comedy because it's ending it, for example. Now, I'm still not clear on whether this would be a film in itself, containing many short films, or just an ongoing project...

RE: An Idea

Please be a little clearer. Would each film be about the day, or have it's own little plot?

And it seems that the last collabrative project did not work out; not to put you down, but you might take that into consideration.

Neat idea, though.

http://www.blazemp.com/downloads.html (not free, but offers a 15 day trial)

http://www.video-converter.net/ (can be downloaded, but not full version)

Search for "MPG to WMV conversion" on Google. A lot comes up.

Just make sure you credit the people whose articles are pasted there. And Nigel, did you really find this website? Ya sure you didn't make it? :) If you wanted your story to be believable, you'd take the link to www.makingthefilm.net off your page for 'Alien Rising.'

Jimbobsquarepants, I don't think anyone can really help you. You can't find a location for your scene...and you're asking us what you should do? I only see one thing you can do: change what you wrote. Rewrite the scene for a location you have at hand...or build a set. Rhys, I felt I must tell you th...

This reminded me alot of the TV shows "Dexter" , "Criminal Minds" and"CSI." The music was really varied...was it put together from a bunch of different soundtracks? It would be much better if one general theme was used for the music. One of the scenes went from day to n...

It's legal to sell unopened software in an auction, but the price would be considerably higher than $50. Anything with a price that low is probably a cheap, illegal copy with limitations that the real software wouldn't have.

Nice, Mushiman! Haven't seen you on here for ages. That was a nice, entertaining flick that I'm sure will recruit some new students. It reminds me of 'A Christmas Carol' in some ways :) I think it could have started off with something other than the main character waking up. It just seems like thats...

If you don't have a good green screen, good special effects software or good actors, don't try to make a Matrix or Star Wars movie. Please don't. Try taking on something a little more practical, even if it may sound fun to do bullet-time and whatnot. You can make a much better film if you don't try ...

If you wanted to do it really simply, you could just film the person on a green screen, composite them onto the set and use keyframing to making them float up and down.
