Now, why would you apologize for that? Well made! Good camera work, actors were amateur (smiling during serious scenes, glancing at the camera) ... but it's an amateur film. Story is great. Karma is realized at the end, all the loose ends tied up.

There's no 3rd option for "depends on the circumstance"...I prefer realFX when possible, but it's not always possible...especially on our budgets.

technically, you can string a hose with small holes in it across the front of the frame...and another in back leaving a corridor of dry for the actors.

I grew up on 80's movies...lots of obviously lit shots. Keep the camera close to the actors to fill the frame since most of my distribution is online...and there's no pixels to spare showing the environment. I shoot wider for theatrical release stuff. what model camera? is it firewire or usb?

I'll test the MPEG-2 for you. I've been able to read most every disk I've been handed no matter the format. MPEG2 should work just fine on a mac. Did you check the compatability of the camera before purchase?
