if you can get a DVD of the film, rip it and split the audio off it.

RE: question to music lovers

so don't use music. The biggest mistake you can make is putting music where it doesn't need to be. Suspence can be built best with just sound effects that are really clear and precise.
examples are Napoleon Dynamite (there are some really good sound FX in that) and Casino Royale (in the Poker scene)

RE: How do you guys direct Music Videos?

Listen to the song and think about all the things that fit patterns of sound that are in the song, so thundering drums could be trains or marching or a lightning storn...etc. Try to get as many long shots as you can (don't listen to that guy^^^) because film clips that cut away all the time show tha...

RE: question to music lovers

Dramatic scenes need to be strings and piano music. I don't think that song would work anywhere, not even outside the bus.

RE: Re: RE: How Filmmakers On matts can Avoid Common Problem

I agree, The use of music is very important. This sounds dorky, but I choose the soundtrack before the film to get ideas for the film and the scenes with that particular music (once I have some idea what I am doing). The problem for Amateur Filmmakers is that we have it much tougher than real direct...

RE: Script, Anyone interested in filming it? (look inside)

Never underestimate the power of commas in a script, you rely on Punctuation to tell you how to say something. and example would be: WILL OWWW, ahh what the hell? Jesus Christ that freaking hurt. LINDSAY Will, oh my god Will <comma> is that you? WILL Yes it's me <comma> who the hell did you think it...

Chase scenes are intense when you make people have waves of involvement. Make a fast close-cut and tightly shot scene of them running and what-not. Then go in for a slower sequence with no music and just breathing and stuff, build the suspense as they play cat and mouse in bushes or around a car. Th...

RE: My Metal Gear Solid Live Action Trailer

this is good, perhaps you should make the cameramove around more, bringin the viewer closer to the action, rather than wide shots. at 0:42 you had the idea. I liked it, the action was good. too. I know this sounds kinda dorky, but take heaps of angles of things like jumping and then cut them togethe...

My First Film

This is the first film I ever made when I was 8, we had a camera that wouldn't allow for editing, so the original had to be done in one-take for each scene, and we had to shoot the scenes in order. This has been re-edited in 2003 and has new sound. <object width="425" height="350"...

Hey, Zac, i live in hobart!

just though that it's cool that this site for the UK can have 3 people in almost the same place in Aus. cool movie too. i did a clone movie using Blue Screen, so that it looks like there are 3 exact replicas, but it only works if you have a huge blue screen, or the people are really big, even if the...

RE: Re: RE: Actors

in my movies, we had a script, i told the actors ( volunteers) exactly what my vision for the shot was, and then i left them to improvise and plan. Then we came back and shot, and if i didn't like something they said, i changed it on the set, or in post-production. :)
