RE: Re: RE: Film School

Why does grades need to matter in life!! they are just random letters LOL
Amen. Especially in filmmaking. Grades in mathematics or science classes really have no bearing on a persons ability to interpret or create art on film.

This is slightly off topic, but.....theoretically, couldn't you just sit in an underground bunker like in Day of the Dead and wait for the zombies to rot away? They are all dead bodies, and in the Romero series he shows that the zombies them selves are getting more and more deteriorated. In NIGHT th...

Ok, I enjoyed it. The story was good, the music was good, and the crane shots were beautiful, loved them. And I know this has been said already, but.....the acting really pulled this film down for me. Several times I just sat there confused or bored during a dialogue scene. There wasnt much emotion ...

RE: Patrol

That was really good, I liked it. I only have two major problems: 1. That has to be THE WORST sniper in THE WORLD. 5 shots, and didnt hit anything. Hell, he was even just walking in the begining and he couldn't hit him. Pathetic. 2.The information at the end was very forced to say the least. War mov...

RE: "Shattered" New film from Escape Films

The acting was actually pretty good. The music during the titles is way out of place, that should be changed, doesnt fit it emotionally. I liked the fighting because it really had that dirty thumb-in-your-eye kind of fighting feel. The angles and music were all good, you got that one song from "...

RE: First Action Film: Law and Disorder

That was great. Had some really good dialogue between the main characters, and was genuinely funny. My only critcism would be the lighting. The fights at the end were harder to see because of the darkness. The acting was not perfect, but it carried the story well. I liked it alot.

RE: How does my script look?

I think making the whole "Twilight Twins" a global epidemic was a bit too much. And I don't believe you should get so detailed with all the rituals and everything. Give the viewer an idea of what happens, you don't have to run through every detail. Like Mike looks at the computer Nick was ...

the first movie was pretty good. It was a bit of an awkward cut at the end though, when you were both just standing there with the shotgun. Its like the little guy was just waiting to get shot in the face. And aaronv2 is so right, i couldnt help but think, wow, he just shot a ten year old child IN T...

It was decent. Pretty much all my criticisms have already been said. Key words, tighter editing. Stuff like, if hes doing a running kick, and you cut it at him lifting his leg up, in the next cut have it start half way through his kick. The movements go so much better. Oh,lol, and a.gotsa.fan, in th...

Very good.

The way the sand in the background looks so white makes me think of how brightly it reflects just like an ocean or snow. An almost blinding kind of heat. I can't wait to see this movie.

The blood was good. Very nice effect on the armbiting. Savini would be proud. The short itself....yeah, well, I can tell you made this just to test blood right? I do things like that. Not everything has to be serious, this isnt a film its a test. Hell, today we filmed my hand getting attacked by a k...

i have used many things as filters or jerry-rigged gels. I have used a blue plastic grocery bag, a yellow towel....thats something that can vary and be improvised. The light itself on the other hand, hell, I need one for myself. Im somewhat lost in that area, listen to these guys though.

I agree with prodigyfilms, for a battle scene, no music is the best way to go. "When Trumpets Fade", is a perfect example of how music (poorly chosen music too) can ruin a war film. A cool idea though, try and find a recording of one of those Muslim guys in a belltower in a mosque calling ...
