He said he had a cheap camera, so he probably doesn't have any inputs for mics.

RE: Anyone Scripts?

Go to http://scriptbuddy.com/community/ . Ask around, I'm sure there are some people willing to see their films made. Not alot of people just want to give away their scripts, though. Why can't you just write a script for yourself?

RE: Filmmaking Magazines?

I get Videography (www.videography.com) which has news about independent films, cameras/film making equipment, as well has some nice tips on lighting, framing, etc. I've read Videomaker, it's mostly reviews of cameras and computers.

RE: Re: RE: Official "Five Cents" Production Threa

I like your short films because they generally don't deal with complex storylines. The plots are very simple, yet the films are still very entertaining. I mean, some would try to cram a full movie into ten minutes...and doing that usually makes the film feel rushed. Anyway, this sounds good and I'm ...

Just finished watching both trailers. Here is my criticism: 1st Trailer: The music at the beginning was a pain to listen to. You mixed major and minor loops and it sounds bad. There were one too many explosions, and you looped the clip of someone sitting down five too many times. 2nd Trailer: "...

Re: RE: Dub or Real Time?

If you don't want background noise...than yes, dub.

It will take practice to get the voices in sync, and it might be a little frustrating lining everything up in your editing program. Make sure the program your using supports multiple audio tracks.

Uh, you're probably not going to find any good stock footage for free...especially uncompressed footage to work with in a movie.

I don't think the fish-eye was lame at all. The bobble head effect was interesting though :)

Okay, assuming the masked person is some kind of killer or criminal (in a story)... Why would he go through the trouble of making or buying a latex mask? A cardboard mask is something anyone could make in his basement. Think about the character. That mask isn't scary by itself, because it's all abou...

Is your video playback set to low? It could just be that your player is set to a low quality, but the actual file is fine.

Someone on another forum said to try swinging the actual mic around. Haven't done it, but it might work. Search on Google for "Whoosh Sounds". A lot comes up. If you want a really good whoosh sound though, you'll probably have to pay for it or make it.

RE: TEASER OF A SCRIPT!!!!!!!!!!! SCRIPT SET IN NEAR FUTURE!

It's okay; I mean, so far it's about a boy getting beat up over a business card. It's too little script to comment on. There's no plot...yet.

Also, the names are a bit crazy, especially if it takes place in the near future.

Yeah, it could be anything from Windows Movie Maker :D to AVID. Or are you asking for editing basics; stuff that applies to any program? How to arrange different cuts, etc. But I hope you already know that if this is your paying job.

RE: HELP WITH "PROFFESIONALY" EXPORTING

Well, you could export your file in anamorphic, which would save space...but I don't know how, I don't use Premiere. For audio, try playing with the EQ settings, OR mix it in Pro Logic II. This is what advertisements are normally mixed in. It gives a surround sound effect on a stereo TV. You'd need ...

I wouldn't sacrifice image quality to have widescreen picture...it just looks bad. You could film in normal 4:3, keeping widescreen in mind, and crop the image in post. What camera are you using?

Jperson, are you using iMovie? You can't overlap clips in that program...that's why it's free. Final Cut Express/Pro lets you do that.

Yeah, use chroma key and stop motion animation or something to make the blades appear to be moving.
