Very well done, made me want to film it, which is usually a good sign! Keep up the good work, and keep us updated on this project.

I still love the 'good lord the world is ending" effect that .50 has on everything immediately surrounding you. Cool stuff.

I will check that video out as soon as my internet starts behaving and allows me to actually download something for once, but I'd just like to state that I really want a t-shirt that says "Polish Stunt Team" now. Think about that...?

How much thinner is the cable for the 80 gig drive? It might be a SATA drive, in which case that one should be your primary drive for editing as it will be much faster.

RE: Re: RE: help with a gun fight.

I'd go for some long wide shots as they run through the neigbourhood not really knowing what's going on. Think the Mr Pink flashback from Reservoir Dogs or the epic street shoot-out from the end of Heat . Lots of gunfire and hits (like Barnes said) with focus on the sound design to make it feel like...

New pic looks much better, and with some of the focus take off the car it doen't jump out at me right away anymore. Very cool looking.

It's mostly in the first shot that it really jumps out at me, seems like if the actors were next to the car they would only come up to the door handles! Germinal is a faitly interesting film, might not be the most captivating story for some people, but the visuals are absolutely stunning in some sho...

Very bleak looking, reminds me of Claude Berri's Germinal. The car looks huge in that picture though, the perspective hurts my brain!

All of those commercial weed-sprayers have a built of over pressure relief. If it's anything like the one that I have, anything over 15 pumps is completely irrelavent, you're simply pumping air back into the atmosphere. If you seal the over pressure valve (as I have done) you can take it up to about...

RE: Re: RE: Anybody ever render hour+ dvd on Pinnacle Studio

Yeah Studio 9 (and 8 for that matter) will open in 10. I've never had stability problems with Pinnacle, and the Firewire card I got with 9 served me well for three years (until I got a new PC that already had a Firewire card). I guess I'm just lucky... or I follow the install instuctions religiously...

Only thing I don't like about Pinnacle is the lack of support for the Magic Bullet plugin. I've tried out every major program and still find myself reverting to Pinnace for it's ease of use.

RE: Re: RE: Anybody ever render hour+ dvd on Pinnacle Studio

Like Theshapecool said, if all you're looking for is the ability to cut footage then Pinnacle is just as good as anything else out there. I have rendered a one hour and fifteen minute video to DVD and VCD with Pinnacle. It wasn't any trouble other than just a lot of waiting. I'm pretty sure it took ...

While it is certainly correct that there are many areas in the Kiev Oblast (region where the Chernobyl reactor is/was) that are unihabitable, the actual amout on radiation you recieve varies greatly depending on what happened there during the disaster. Yes: if you get close to the reactor itself you...

In Adobe Premiere there is an option to export to "filmstrip" file format (.flm) which, when opened in Photoshop, appears as every single frame of video separately edit-able. I belive those are the only two programs that will deal with .flm files.

Film a guy running up the stairs to an apartment from the outside, where the camera follows him up five floors looking in through the windows. How's you get your hands on that anyhow?

I just remembered a couple more bad experiences. In one scene we were shooting we were using a cap gun (loaded with caps - the sound they make isn't usable on their own, but make adding the effect in post much easier and give it a more multilayered effect. I think cap guns are honestly the best thin...
