you can get some great ramping of speed in after effects although you MUST deinterlace and put frame blending aswell then it will look pretty good. the problem is stuff that is moving with the action like trees in the background. cloth dynamics and other stuff... my advice from experience is to prac...

no way could you get the amount of particle interaction in max... you would have to us3e animated sprites which would look way better... even then the amount of particle simulation would take ages they had thousands of particles to calculate and they had a farm of computers... good luck... you may h...

Ok controlled pan and tilt motion ok easy... what would impress me is zoom controll or x y and z axis controlled movement... then your camera angles are limetless... oh and how about focus control too? then ill buy one off you :)

what you need to do is take a greenscreen and a green cardboard box... you will then need to film the girl crawling out of the box which will be the tv later... make sure you have no camera movement if you do it will be almost impossible to match the movement when it comes time to make her crawl out...

we filmed it in an underground parking lot... didnt hurt at all it was fun thats why i did it twice. the problem is i have to correct the color between the two cameras which takes alot of time.

particle illusion wont give you stuff as nice as that... close... but not as nice and to render particle systems with sprite animation would take a while... i personally would go for the 3d approach because you can add DOF which makes them look ultra realistic!
