It won't do anything by itself. You could at least read the manual
http://www.sfx.com.pl/misc/trackmatte.jpg - if you have pure black background it works like Screen Blending Mode.

RE: Adobe Premiere Elements
Put copy of clip with black background on the different track in Timeline (but within the same timecode) and use it as matte in Track Matte Key filter. (Add Track Matte to lower clip)

Be sure to record seaparately some continues background effects music, crowd etc. Adding music from cd is not and option (atmosphere). ADR is needed because even if you record actors you won't put it together in post. The background noise will be changing on every cut. Of course if you record it &qu...

RE: Earth explosion
The moon is too big and it's cold rock - there's nothing to explode. Just engulf it in flames and push away (impact and loss of gravity that hold the moon close to the Earth) But... it doesn't meant to be realistic I guess. Does it? Generaly OK but I would remove the camera shaking in before the ast...

Watch again and if you still don't know why - don't use zoom either.

Film was qualified to most significant polish indie and student film festivals. And ignored. So far so good The most important in september (like Oscars but in our small, local scale).

Exactly what we did. It was shot at twilight (the magic hour) with the ND filter on and the iris stepped down. The sky is overcast so you didn't. Make it when sky is clear and the will be a perfect moon. Just make sure it's from side or back direction. Again, remember that this film is about origin...

So? It's the waterpipe put over the lens and pointed into sky. Where's the clue?

It's just more... yellow. The footage is a bit overexposed I think.

RE: The buildup
It was nice... until that zoom in. Why, foxwood, why?? Shots are to long and more close ups would be nice. The beginning is quite well edited and then (after this tragic zoom) it looks like you was to lazy to shoot enough footage from different setups. Exposure - why it was set on background? I don'...

Yeah day for night doesn't really work because it still looks false. The viewer is kinda tricked in to thinking it's night but it doesn't look like night (for example, if you look around at night you'll see that everything doesn't have a blue tint like it does when you shoot 'day for night') It doe...

Re: RE: The Hole
Nice. Really enjoyed it- the effects had a very hyper-stylized feel that made them look fake as hell but nice (except for the smoke from the building, didn't care for that). Well it was meant to be "fake". This is one big quote mark. So for pulling the best b&w, you suggest cranking u...
