Dude, Israel invented the UZI and the M16 and the FireBall smart mortar with pinpoint accuracy guided by GPS and laser-homing modes for a single-shot target kill in urban warfare.

Don't underemine such an incredible country.

RE: Something new from film school

Ha, the accents are allll natural baby. Anyways, the point of the exercise was really to see how well we could work as a crew and how we could cut between three characters without crossing the line, my lecturer did warn against film in a place with lots of wild audio, so I'm just going to go in tomo...

Something new from film school

Lots of problems with this one. The exercise was to develop a three person dialogue, we got a randomly selected crew of first-year students. I had a Director Of Photographer that can't speak English and direct gaffers properly, discountinuous sound capture from the sound recordists (and also the fac...

That's not true at all. Gels are specially colour balanced to 3200k and 5500k...You can't just use any type of material.

I wouldn't really suggest anything other than gels suited to the job. A plastic bag and a yellow towel are niether correctly colour balanced to CTO/CTB and aren't that heat resistent...But that's why rolls of gel go the equivalent of $120 here.

Yeah, but then I have one panel on one monitor and one panel on the other. I want the full interface on my primary monitor and all the video output to be displayed in fullscreen on my secondary.

Dual Monitors and After Effects?

I have two monitors hooked up to my Geforce6800 Ultra, when I goto the Nvidia settings and tell the card to auto-select a full screen device, all the video that plays in in my primary monitor and Premiere (Source and Program windows) is displayed in full screen on my secondary monitor...I can't seem...

I said a career out of filmmaking...If you adopted the same methods used by "big budget hollywood films" you'd have something that looks more polished than an amatuer movie. It doesn't cost anything besides some paper to draw a storyboard. Previsualisation should have the most emphasis pla...

Re: RE: Sony PD150?

But it does have a larger lens. :) Size doesn't matter, it's what you... blah blah blah  I was thinking about getting the FX1-E, but right now I primarily work with live music videos, so I needed something that handles well in low-lighting situations. Also, barely any place here actually owns...

The exercise is supposed to be practice at cinematography. Storyboarding is an exercise in direction, the meaning of this is to get you to start looking at the damn shots. If you think something needs to be storyboarded, that's fine, but it's just what you think . If you're the one operating the ca...

In my opinion, your movie, whether it's 30 seconds or three hours, should be storyboarded from start to finish if you want something that looks polished.

I don't seeing as he is encouraging bad habbits. Storyboarding is the most important part of your movie. The Director is the one who handles this. Not the DP as Aaron claimed. You tell people that the action should flow left to right...What happened if you wanted to expose your character as being in...

No offence, but you and the other war fanatics are the guys I'd expect to bring an assault rifle to school and spray some people down. :D

Besides that, great stuff...Looks excellent. What camera are you going to be shooting on?

The problem is, he simply thinks he's better than anyone else...That's he's doing us all a favour by imparting his "wisdom" which no one really cares about.

And spelling "thought" as "thaught" is not a rushed typo, it's just idocy.

Re: RE: First Exercise for you all

Right, first off, I have a Directing and Camerawork & Lighting essay due within the next week, I need to complete a twelve page screenplay and storyboard a three-person dialogue within May. I don't think up "exercises" for people when I have nothing of my own to show. What qualificatio...

RE: First Exercise for you all

Don't you find it a big arrogant, maybe even obnoxious, treating everyone here subserviantly when you really have nothing to show for it? You say we need to focus on our camerawork yet "no storyboards"...That's pretty silly. You say we need to keep things going from left to right yet fail ...
