With the things I said above I didn’t meant to offend anybody or anything like that (my apologies). But come on guys, use common sense (which is the least common of all the senses). Don't waste your time and other's time by posting pointless replies. This forum features some of the best topic...

RE: The Nutcracker -- Stills
Those blank's m. flashes look a lot like the m. flashes created by placing a exploding firecracker insede a 1/4'' copper tube behind a BB gun (by "behind" I mean the side not seen by the camera). That's the technique I use. Pretty cool for those like me that don't have access to a real gun...

RE: Wire rig.
You can wear spandex clothes underneath the harness and costume you´re useing. A good harness doesn´t have to be unconfortable. It is supposed to be really thight but that doesn´t mean it needs to be unconfortable so that it´s safe to use it. I have bought some harnesses over the past fe...

Easier: find a long pole or pvc pipe of about 8 feets in lenght. Find it's center and hang it by there with a rope. Attach the camera (looking down) from one end of the pipe and counterweights in the other end. Hang the pole from the ceiling and place your actor below the hanging point. Now give it ...

RE: Cyclorama?
For soundproofing, you can buy rolls or tiles of cork and then glue them to the walls. It works best on a carpeted room. A spray sealer is often used on "pimped-out" cars, it's a lot more expensive and you'll need a looooooooooot of cans of the stuff to cover a wall.

By the way, this is the first time that cameras have been used under water for the Olympics This is the firs time they used a ROBOTIC DOLLY CAMERA underwater. In past olimpics, they got underwater footage taken by divers located at the corners of the pool. They used a similar camera than the one us...

Technology in the olimpic's swimming pool
Does somebody know EXACTLY how they "project" the athlethe's flag and name in each lane in the pool??? The NFL, ESPN, ect. also use this technology to project a red line in football games (to mark the ball's possition at each play) I noticed that there are some black "dots" all a...

you can use green screen to overimpose the actor before the buss passes by. When the buss pasess, simply turn the layer with the actor off. (or use a mask and an empty plate= just 2 layers) The problem with filming in 3 different layers in the outside is that the sun´s light will get dimmer and d...

Candle Trick http://www.phys.ufl.edu/demo/6_Optics/A_GeometricOptics/CandleTrick.jpg Shows the reflection of light from a candle on a glass sheet. Two candles appear to be burning but one of them is not lit (the one at the right). A good example of how Disney World does a lot of their tricks. (*****...

THIS CAN BE SOOOOOOO EASILLY AND SAFELY ACOMPLISHED, but only if you have imagination and attention to detail. If youre watching TV near a glass door or a glass pannel, you can see that the TV's image gets reflected in it. If you look closely, (and have imagination) you will see the reflectin as a f...
