creating a ripple in 3d studio max

I have a question, I'm trying to create a ripple in 3d studio max, and I assigned it to a plane( still trying to recreate INSERT_COIN & AUSTINS matrix ripple effect ), but I can't get it to work at all. It looks horrible, and when I try to do either a ripple or a wave all it does and make the wh...

thats a pretty good method. You can't really get hurt as long as the cardboard is there. One firecracker won't hurt you too much, maybe just a little burn. The only problem I could see, would be the actor tensing all up for it, because he knows it's gonna happen, or he might look down at it. That co...

I would be happy to help design a few pages, this is a great idea and a lot of potential. As for advertising, just spread the word on a few boards and sites, people will start to come and it'll gain reconition. It's gonna work. Just make the site and host it, but the films just need to be hosted by ...

Insert Coin, thats looks pretty good. I'm fairly new to cgi, but I do have access to 3d studio max, and I own AE. I'm trying to figure out this displacement thing. I tried to animate a ring(the color black,) on a grey background, then using that as a displacment map. But I can't get it to work. Do y...

Alamdv2 isn't the best, but when your in a bind, it can be a lifesaver at the last minute. Hopefully 3 will be better.

Only 30 seconds of weightlessness? Man, that's hardly anything! I didn't realise it was so short, almost seems pointless wasting the fuel! Didn't they nickname it the vomit comet, or was that something else? I don't know if they'd actually be hopping around on Mars. 2 thirds of gravity is over half...

ok, I know a lot about spaceflight, and you guys get something wrong: that airplane (called zero-G) makes you weightless for only about 30 seconds, not more I think it's pretty hard to make a film when you're weightless yourself (as cameraman), or to capture a scene whit 30-second pieces. About the...

it needs to have a florecent glow, like green or red. Also, it's not just a stick, when you spin it, the blade spreads, so you have to move the mask to look like that, not just a straight stick. And make it a little longer.

also, your ghost will be only about 50% or so transparent, but add a slight glow to your ghost to give it a more paranormal appearance.

you'r best be for haveing somewhat realistic results is to mix both reality(wires) with post. Use the wires to pull him back somewhat on to a mat. Then make this motion and tweek it a bit. This way he'll actually be flying through the air but you'll will just have adjusted the distance he traveled.

I did, it's fine if I keep everything in Premiere, but if I export a clip so I can work on it on After Effects, or another program, when I import it back into Premiere, it doesn't fit the frame. Another question while I'm here that I can't find in the manual or the help file, how do I combine all th...

After Switching to Premiere Pro, problems occur.

After I upgraded to Premiere Pro, I began to learn the new interface, but I still use AE 5.5 The problem is, when ever I do my work in AE and then import it back into Premiere, the video doesn't fill up the monitor, and when rendered it comes out that way also. It's not that I'm exporting it as a di...

For number 2.

Select the mask, then click the expander to bring you down in the keyframes timeline thing. Click the animate button for the postion button, and move the clip to where you want it, then move the mask. It will be animated between it.

I know it kinda sucks, but when in a bind it can come in handy, especially if you need some little effect for a vid but it's do the following day, it's a lot quicker than using a 3d app for hours trying to make it yourself.

hopefully Alamdv3 will be a lot better.

I would say alamdv, but I know a lot of people hate it, but it's pretty good when you have a deadline and you need something fast without making it yourself and rendering it.. I would say Tmpgenc for encoding to mpg(no quality loss, but takes awhile) virtual dub, for encoding to divx, xvid, etc thats...
