As for the footage, it pretty much just looks like a bunch of kids running around. As Ornsack said, a lot of the footy seems to be out of focus as well. Maybe this isn't all of the footage that is going to be used for the film? As for the Canon HV20, even though it is a consumer camera, it seems tha...

as always i ask, what did you shoot it on, color correction.. the works This was shot on a Sony TRV950. I usually try to get my colors to look the right way when I shoot, so I don't do that much correction in post. If it's needed, I just use the tools in Premier 5. but what did you use for the doll...

New film, BLACKBIRD RISING
Hey everyone. I recently finished a very short film entitled, BLACKBIRD RISING. It is a 2.5 minute short film exploring the Battle of Good Vs. Evil throughout the ages. This film stars Sabien Minteer and Lance Hanson, with music composed by Bryan Bogatz. Written/Directed by Joe Boyle. http://www.lem...

You should try your camera on someone else's computer that it should work on. Then you can figure out if your problem is your camera or your computer. If it is your camera, the firewire port may have been damaged somehow. I've blown out the firewire port on 2 cameras in the past by hooking them up i...

ENCODING QUESTION
Hey everyone. I just have a quick question. I don't know too much about encoding video after a final edit, but I have a specific set of specifications I need to fulfill. I need to encode a video in MPEG4 with MP3 audio format at 320*240. I have Adobe Premier Pro to use for this. If anyone could help...

Hey man. The idea of this was pretty interesting. I just think that it could have been executed in about half the time. It seemed as if you didn't have a clear vision of what you wanted the cinematography to be like. JW if you storyboarded for this or not? The shots felt a bit random in some parts (...

I can't say for sure about Moulin Rouge because I've never seen it. But take Romeo and Juliet for example. Indeed, they already love each other, but that doesn't mean that they have no obstacles. The struggle in that story is the struggle against their families and the opposition to their romantic e...

60 seconds is tough to do a complete film in, but you pulled it off quite nicely. This film had a good simple story, sufficient acting, and fairly good technical quality. Normally I'm a bit iffy about multiple screens in one, but for the time element and the flow of this, it worked well. The idea wa...

This story was along the same lines of an episode of Law and Order: SVU that I watched last night - only much less underworked. Neither the characters nor the story itself were built up whatsoever. Various elements in a film should be strengthened so that the film as a whole can be strong. All of th...

A PLEA FOR EVERYMAN Screenshots
Hey everyone. Here are some screenshots from my next short film entitled, A PLEA FOR EVERYMAN. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"... How much love then is shown if a Man lay down His life for His enemies? http://www.lemonus.com/sonshineweb.jp...

I enjoyed this piece. Very simple, yet quite effective. Murder is often the topic of many many films, TV shows, etc. Yet, the public has grown used to the idea, as if it is no longer a grotesque act, but one to be thrust into the limelight and paraded around. As for the execution of the film itself,...

RE: Re: RE: My first video for college!
Handheld shots make you lazy. I know from experience. It would be better to take his advice and learn to shoot on a tripod, then progress (or digress depending on how you look at it) to handheld shots. That way, you will have the patience and ability needed for tripod shots and also the availability...
