RealViz can track via two camcorders recording at the same rate. It just reduces it to a frame-by-frame track (like most tracking software) and records its data from there.

It's a great camera. The third-party support also doesn't seem to be price gouging owners of the camera like they do to Sony and Canon owners.

The picture quality isn't the main thing that makes the XL1 better than the GL2. It's the expandability. But it really depends on your needs, your budget, and if you plan on doing this for quite some time and want to invest more in it in the future. But, if you have a GL-2, keep working with it. It'...

Yup. GMax is a modeling application that game companies license for easy modding of their content. It's not meant to be a replacement for 3DS Max and has a huge number of features stripped from it.

I just c licked it and it worked in Firefox. Let me check IE. Yup. No idea why it's not working for you.

Here's the link to the ZIP, though if the main site's not working, this one probably won't either.

I have no idea the cheapest you'll find it.

It's a great camera, just like the Sony and Panasonic cameras in its caliber.

After Effects, Combustion, and DFX+ are all excellent programs for effect editing. Premiere is a basic editor which has some basic effects tools thrown in. The meat of the tools are in other tools like AE, Combustion, and DFX+. I prefer the workflow for DFX+ to AE and Combustion myself, but that's j...

The Panasonic AG-DVX100A has some of the best prices on third-party accessories and attachments such as lens converters and matte boxes and filter units. Third parties seem to love gouging Sony and Canon customers even more than the companies themselves. I can help with information on the XL1s and t...

Blood's easy to add as long as you have the final frame sequence (though it'd be annoying if it were a long sequence or a rotoscoped sequence).

I've gotten extremely good quality from both Sony and Canon cameras. I own an XL1s and love the lens capabilities. My friend owns a PD150 and it's an excellent camera. Both are more expensive than you're looking at, though. If you're looking for an out-of the box shooting package, I'd recommend the ...

Do your clip and pose and take a single frame of the best death pose. Mask that and modify it as necessary. That will alleviate most problems with expression. If you need motion for hair, then storyboard you movement beforehand and mimic it. Capture the frames and simply layer the hair movement (ext...

What are you doing? I have a slit-throat with a straight razor. I'm using an angle gauge for the medium shots and the straight razor for close-ups. Since you don't get to see the slash, but the brutality (as well as a healthy baseball bat beating) I didn't opt for close-ups of the razor in the slash...

That's the problem I have with low-budget and hollywood budget horror flicks. They treat CG as the be-all and end-all of filmmaking. Where, if they planned the shot, and used a combination of practical effects and CG effects, they would come up with a *much* better final edit than if they do it only...
