Starfield Motion Blur
hey, im animating a space scene in 3d, using motion blur tags so objects appear to move more fluidly. However this causes the stars in the background to fade to dark greys, whereas in films like star wars and star trek the star field motion blurs leave streaks of bright white light. anyone know how ...

Selling a screenplay
Hey, I was sure there had been posts on this before but my searches couldn't find anything, even search engines dont give any information unless you are willing to pay. I'm wondering how I sell my script and get it made professionally. I hear you probably need an agent, but I can't find a way of loc...

Quick question about latex...
hey, i see lots of people doing horror make-up where liquid latex is applied directly to the actors face. Is this healthy? not only does latex smell aweful, it even says on the container - not to be inhaled. am i using the wrong latex? thanks for your info.

Bit of a pickle- converting to PAL
Im stuck with a bit of a problem here- i've shot most of my movie in NTSC 29.97 FPS, but since most of my target audience is in the UK the movie would be better shown in PAL(i also hear PAL framerate is closer to film). So if you were in my place, would you keep working in NTSC, or convert to PAL(an...

Blurring while Bluescreening?
hey, right now ive got a problem where i am trying to add an object into a scene using chroma-key, and blur the object at the same time. problem is this means that there are blueish edges left in around my object due to it blurring with the background, so does anyone know a way around this? thanks

MiniDV Tapes
Hey, i've noticed recently that sony do atleast two brands of MiniDV Tapes, one called Premium the other called Excellence. Excellence is also more expensive that the other brands. Im just wondering what makes it worth this extra, and if it's worth investing in if i want the best quality shots, than...

Any tips for filming on location?
Hey, this month I’m due for filming on location. It's in a cold war bunker, there is tons of fluorescent lightings and probably not too many modern plug sockets. Also my first filming session will be a max of 3 hours. So does anyone have any creative techniques of getting around the bad lighting in ...

If you dont have time to apply makeup to each zombie, then do what im doing and create latex masks for each. I dont worry about getting face casts or anything like that, just poor liquid latex on a dummy head and then peel it off once dried. The skin should be very messed up, making it looks very ro...

Was Predator all shot in Daylight?
After watching Predator over and over again, i noticed that it may actually have all been filmed at daytime. Am I right? Also how did they do such a good job at darkening the image without blacking out all the characters?

Petrol fumes distortion
Is there any way to add distortion to a clip as if petrol vapour or over fumes are flying past the camera. The scene im doing is a view from behind a Stealth Bomber, so the camera is in the direct path of the fumes given off. Thanks
