alright well I'm ordering most of the parts today for my portable squib. I'm also building a kabuki squib vest that this can attach to, that will run up the actors back just behind their head, for head shots from the front where blood sprays on a wall. I'm not really gonna get into the design before...

...if you're going to use an explosive whats the purpose of using the concrete? You'll have your own realistic dustcloud, because its an ACTUAL explosive...that's kind of silly... either way my best bet would be to put it in an air mortar. It's gonna have to be strong, because concrete is f*** heavy...

alright two things first off me and my dad are working on a new idea for a portable squib that can be hidden conveniently on the body SOMEwhere, using a small tank and a "remote" that runs up the actors sleeve so that they can fire it off themselves. I'll keep you posted. Second, the concr...

RE: Kung-fu wire work without the wires

hmm this sounds like a terrible idea, but I cANT say that I dont wanna see the results.

Me and my friends used to just take the hits when we did stuff like that...sometimes you gotta hurt yourself to make a good film!...

that's horrible advice...stick with the dummies...

well like I said I still haven't seen the movie made that I WANT to see. So I'm going to attempt at making it... It falls into the zombie genre, because like I said I grew up with that, and it's what I know and love. Do i have a bagillion other ideas for movies? HELL YES BUt I desperately want to se...

first off how is this forum failing? I really don't understand that statement... furthermore it's a relatively free speech environment, and they have their censors in place so I don't understand what problem my choice of words causes. I'm 20 goddamned years old, and I'm not the only person to use th...

it might be true on a case by case basis because you suck at it, means it is true for you I'm not claiming to be good at it, but It CAN be utilized to produce much more adequate results under certain circumstances. so to say "stay clear of it at all costs" is utter bullshit. So get off it....

i think what he's saying is, when you're making no budget films and your entire proplist is ww2 props...you kinda gotta use what you have

oh i understand completely, but sometimes its just not practical to rig a squib up for a character running through an open field. and it's that kind of thing that you can actually make look better with CG would i use Cg blood in a close up, wehre it splatters on a wall, or interacts some way with pe...

RE: Re: RE: WWII and Zombies?

hmm well I'm working on a zombie movie...for a few reasons... one is that I grew up with zombies and its all I've ever wanted to make, I can't remember a time in childhood where me and my friends werent on the roof with BB guns fighting off zombies and another reason is that no one has really made t...

I tried to do this once. My main problem that we were having was that we tried to do with with quick-connects, and with all the air you lose when you pull the "tank" off the compressor after charging it, its not enough pressure to force anything through a tube. An idea I had was to use tho...

lightwave 8 composite question

I dont really have the vocabulary to ask this question properly...so bear with me. basically I'm wondering if theres an option in lightwave 8 that would allow me to use a video clip as a background image so that I can better incorporate the 3d graphics when I animate them... does that make sense? li...

i think this would be a crappy movie, if yotu had 400 million dollars to make it, and it starred every big name actor from arnold Schwarzeneggar to tom cruise, to jesus christ himself. so you could imagine my feelings on the subject, if you were to make it, with no budget, on a vhsc camcorder that y...
