There are too many to list, but given the above options: who do you vote for?

End of a Rope

Here's a film I was hired for 3 years ago. I play the MP seen at the beginning of the movie, and some other extra roles. So it's not exactly "my" movie... but it's worth a viewing. Enjoy! End of a Rope trailer: http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi1495991321 Full movie: http://www.youtube.com/w...

The Bridge Film

Well, here's a short indy film that I worked heavily on 2 years ago. I thought I'd share it, since it was relatively successful. The director is a douchebag and sorta screwed me and my organization over, but that's another story. About $9k went into the production and the entire short was filmed in ...

I've bought toy handguns on eBay as cheap as $12 and $15. Then you can buy some metal lacquer style paint and spruce it up.

The problem is... it's only a rendering of several explosions. There isn't any subject correlating to it other than you wanted to show us a big boom! There isn't any room for growth, so posting it is a little redundant. Not to mention, we've all seen those clips. :) If you try applying your newfound...

In the near future, movies will simply be encrypted and broadcasted to theaters for the premiere. It's all rather fascinating to see how the digital world is turning things around.

Whenever I use straps, the wind always manages to toss it in front of the lens. So, I don't use them.

Shooting on film certainly isn't cheap. Plus, if you aren't sure how to shoot with film, you may end up with a ton of unusable footage! For amateur filmmaking purposes, I would say just stick with video.

If you study photographs of real muzzle flashes enough, you can pretty easily photoshop them in by hand.

Detonation films have a pretty selection too.

I personally think it's a pain. With as easy as (and cheap as) digital high definition is becoming, 16mm is still a lot of work. It's a 3 person crew minimum just to effectively operate the camera. Plus, I'm too used to being able to look through the camera at the final image. I guess I'm spoiled!

Salt peter is a basic ingredient used for igniting fires and explosives. Use with extreme caution. Not to mention, this is a pyrotechnic and you could potentially be arrested if caught with it in most places. It is wise to talk with your local fire department before attempting to use for a production.

The best looking, stain resistant stage blood I've ever bought was from Cinema Secrets in Los Angeles. It's an industrial, non-toxic gelatin based blood that even keeps its texture when dried.

I does cost about $80/gallon. However, it is well worth it.

In the last movie I've been working on, the producer simply cashed part of the production budget at the bank. I'd never seen so many $100 bills in one place. Talk about an expensive prop.

Everybody was paid in cash at the week's end...

Yeah, in this case eBay is cheaper. Also awards of valor are honerable acheivements, and illegal to wear if you've not earned it. So use it respectfully in your movies.

RE: Muzzle Flash & Day for Night Test

Well, the problem is a muzzle flash in the dark of night would be dark enough to light the entire room up. Experiement in editing and see if you can find a way to brighten the frame up a little. Also, work on feathering the flash itself out a little better. Right now it just looks like you've simply...
