With or without ear protection DO NOT FIRE A BLANK GUN AT ANYONE!!! Blanks have some type of 'plug' at the end of the cartridge and can expel that plug with extreme velocity, causing serious injury. Blank firing guns are NOT toy guns, and should be treated witht he same respect as any firearm.

Just an off the wall idea, shoot the keyhole, zoom in on it, eventually stop short, overlay this over your room video, key out the keyhole, then use Premiere's tranform to continue to zoom 'thru' the keyhole similar to this effect only in reverse http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/tutdes_star...

The processor speed refers only to the number of clock ticks the processor generates in a given second, not really the processing speed of the chip. Other than color saturation, and losing some digital relics in extremely low light situations, the diff between a 3-CCD and a good single ccd are not all that great. The single, if shot right, will give almost imperceptible differences in most cases. The three CCD will make it easier to produce qual...

The low end dazzle cards might not have quite the quality you are looking for, particularly the USB versions. I've used the dazzle 80, and it tends to drop a lot of frames and will only cap at 32x240 at 29.7fps. Dazzle has a higher thruput device that uses Firewire but runs about $199.00.

Try deinterlacing the clip before outputting to tape, the TV will be scanning as interlaced, the monitor is probably showing it as noninterlaced... of course may not do a bloddy thing either but worth a try.. :)

If you have the musket, just use the blackpowder charge. The smoke cloud from a musket is much bigger than a muzzle flash... just make blank paper cartridges with a charge recomended for the weapon..
