Yeah, their video for Hoppipola is definitely my favorite.

Also, just found out that this video earned me 500 dollars of scholarship money - I don't have to pay for books this semester :)

Catharsis (IT'S A REAL MOVIE THIS TIME)

The primary actress in the first scene refused to give me permission to use her image publicly (this video was for a class project,) the first two minutes or so are cut out. In that scene, a guy takes his friend to the hospital after he OD's on coke, and after treating the friend a doctor tells him ...

Death's actually a very good example. If the main character, who you've gotten to know and have connected with over the movie, say kills themselves by putting a shotgun barrel in their mouth, which is better - full straight on shot of his head being taken off, or a fade out/gunshot. If the director ...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Sex - (Ye

I will not speak of the no nudity clause. I will not even tolerate being around people that speak of it. So let's just drop it. Kay? Kentertainment hit the nail on the head. Sex scenes are almost always gratuitous - sure the act is a vital life experience and all that, but how are you supposed to pu...

Talented cinematographers get the credit they deserve within the filmmaking community. Anything more than that is completely unnecessary, so don't go getting all huffy on us.

As f*** up as you? Seriously dude, what you're describing is the perpetrator of a crime of passion, or a mass murdering psychopath. The fake blood is good, but I've always been in the school of thinking that anything extra is just gratuitous. You should've downplayed the gun firing as well. Personal...

Why? As Lawrie said before, their job is to collaborate with the director to bring their vision to the screen. It's ultimately the director's decision where the camera is placed, how many are used, whether to shoot in slow motion, the color schemes, etc. It's a job that neither calls for attention o...

Either way, I don't really give a s***. My name's been on the internet for years; no serial killers yet.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you - in Premiere Pro, under Adjust select Lighting Effects, bring down the Light 1 tab and select Omni under type. Then just adjust the position and intensity accordingly, and set the color to a golden-yellow (to imitate the morning sun.) Lens flare would also h...

The WW2 movie I'll never make

Figured I'd post this while I was waiting for an actor in my last movie to sign the goddamn waiver (I should not be waiting this long considering how uncomplicated and insignificant the production of this movie was.) This is a short machinima I made, using FRAPS (to capture the game footage) and Ado...

Being a big guy ain't a bad thing either. Luckily I've got the deep commanding voice down, so when I'm ready to get down to business, everyone knows it. So really I've never had too much of a problem with that. Yeah, I've had people goofing off and wasting time, but never for very long - a simple, a...

RE: how might I improve this cinematography?

First off, there is a little too much zooming (especially freeze framing zooms) - it really detracts by making it look amateur. When the would-be killer is shown loading the handgun and putting it in his bag, I think it should be much closer; simply showing a a guy loading a handgun from the neck do...

By itself, fantastic. But after the amount of hype the local papers and stations gave it (especially Linda Cook's review,) I'm not really that impressed. I also don't really dig the fact that in every description it's flaunted as a contemporary western, when half the appeal in watching a modern tran...

220 million firearms in the US. On the Census Bureau's list of 130 major causes of death, gun related deaths failed to break the top 100 over the past few years. They account for .008% of our roughly 2.5 million annual deaths. Compared to the million some odd lives that heart disease claims. Or the ...
