My New Music Video

Hey there. It's been a while since I've posted here, but I thought you folks might be interested in checking out a music video that I shot about two weeks ago for CAKE's music video contest -- there is a contest to make a video for CAKE's cover of Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs'. If you'd like to see my ...

Re: RE: New (and Final) Teaser for my Forthcoming Short Film

Looks good, kinda makes me want popcorn. It looks interesting. The effects are good, the cuts are good, the acting is done well to suit it, the music fits it well, and the story makes sence (but u know, theres clearly a twist). I havent seen your other trailers, but how long will the full movie be?...

Yeah, that's definitely the problem.

Thanks for the help -- I'll search around for the plugin.

As for your question, I'm not really sure... how do I make sure that I'm applying it as a different layer?

Cropping 4:3 Footage for a 16:9 Timeline

Hey. Does anybody know how I can crop a 4:3 clip to be edited into a 16:9 timeline. When I import the clip into the 16:9 timeline (I'm using Final Cut Pro, by the way) I obviously get black bars on the left and right sides... I'd like to scale the image so that I get rid of the black bars on the sid...

Making Clips Look Like Television in Final Cut Pro

Forgive me if this has been covered any where else in the forum -- and please direct me to the appropriate thread if it has indeed been covered -- but I'm looking for a way to make clips look like television clips in Final Cut Pro (using a variety of filters or anything like that). To be more specif...

I agree with those who say that if you see a location that inspires you, go ahead and use it... but generally speaking, I would recommending creating your story first, and figuring out how to make your vision a reality after. I can recall listening to an audio commentary in which filmmaker Robert Ro...

In my opinion and experience, and I have ample in both premiere and final cut, but final cut and apple hardware p!$$es all over premiere... Blanket statments like apples are peices of sh!t are compleatly inaccurate, without apple and finalcut, the whole media industry would grind to a halt. In any ...

Thanks. The XL2 sounds like its gonna be awesome! Can't wait! When you got your XL2, did you film a bunch of pointless things to first test it out? I know I will be doing that ... lol I had actually previously rented two of them for a shoot to mess around and get a feel for the camera before I put ...

Congratulations. I own an XL2 and, besides sometimes haven't trouble focusing while shooting hand-held material, it's a beautiful, beautiful camera.

Bravo man! I really liked this piece. A much more mature film than is often seen of younger filmmakers. Just wondering, how old are you? Thank you very much for your kind words. I am currently eighteen years old -- I was sixteen (going on seventeen) when I shot the film. So many films begin with th...

My Short Film (and a preview for my forthcoming film)

Hey. My name is Mike Moring -- I used to frequent this forum regularly, but that was a long time ago, and since then I had forgotten my username and password... But I decided I'd re-register to share with you some work I've done since I've been away. Last year I shot a short film, Untitled , which h...
