Re: RE: Day After Tomorrow-ish effects sequence
that takes way too long to d/l it, could you make it into 2 parts or something? It's under two minutes, but the res is pretty high (even though it's actually only half res :D ) Here's a 1/4 res version that's only 13 megs (most of the detail is lost in all the compression, but at least it's watchab...

Day After Tomorrow-ish effects sequence
So here's this special effects sequence I've been working on with a bunch of my PixelCorps friends. It's a sequence where two tourists are trapped in a cable car while Rio de Janeiro is overcome by a Day After Tomorrow-style storm. http://www.jushhome.com/pxc/TEAMRIO_FXWARS_960x540.mov For some info...

RE: Re: RE: My first post, questions about filler shots
Usually, a shot like that would be planned, storyboarded and done on set with the star during the planned shoot. If it was "forgoten" or done later, it's often called a "pick up" shot (not because the character is picking up something, but rather because an extra shoot was schedu...

RE: star wars effects
The overall process was that GL edited shots of aireal footage from WWII films and news reels to show just what the action of each shot should look like. Then the team at ILM built physical models, shot film footage of the models against a bluescreen, and used optical film effects techniques to fini...

RE: HDR, 3d models, and you
Yup. Pretty standard these days for a lot of CGI work. The big trick is really in getting the panaoramic HDR image shot. There are a number of highly specialized cameras that the pros use for this, but the rest of us use light probes (those mirror ball thingies) or pano heads (like you can get from ...

Sony CineLine HD cameras. Right now they're around $175k or so. Do you mean the CineAlta? One thing to keep in mind as an option is that the CineAlta F900 HD camera is more common these days and quite rentable in many major metro areas. I know in some areas in can be rented for $2000 per day includ...

Load the video into your computer and review the Red, Green, Blue levels of the different shades of green...

RE: Muzzle Flashes
What software do you have? In Media Studio Pro, it's just a matter of drawing the flash pattern (a cloudy X-ish shape) in Video Paint, then using Video Editor's overlay and Moving Path controls to make it "flash" and change shape and track over the muzzel. Adobe would be much the same with...
