Just re-watched it last night, and I have to say 'A Beautiful Mind' has some really stunning cinematography... but it's very subtle, which I think cinematography is supposed to be.

The lighting is just brilliant. It looks very organic...

Yeah, I agree... Children of Men is amazing not only cinematography, but choreography (7+ minute long shots).

And Conrad Hall is great too!

Best Movie for Cinematography?

Hey guys. What's your guys' favorite movie that showcases some of the best cinematography you've ever seen?

For me:

1. Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
2. The Road to Perdition
3. The Matrix
4. I can't really think right now, so I'll add more of my favorites later.

What's your list?

Can you describe it a little bit better? Size? Color? Etc. I can help, but there are numerous cable-plugs I am thinking of right now. If you give me a size/shape/color, I could tell you...

Sorry for popping up this old thread... but... I've never seen Bam's film, BUT yes, it IS easy to make a good camera look like junk. Even taking an amazing camera, anyone can make it look horrible. It's knowledge of film that allows you to produce amazing images, no matter what the camera! Personall...

Haha! Wow... I didn't know people are still commenting on this old thing. (I appreciate it, I'm just surprised!) The only reason I titled it "OMG!" is to make people open (and to tick people off.. just kidding! Don't ban me!) :) That stipple makeup was the coolest thing! Haha, and that was...

Ebay is good, if you're careful. To be honest, I wouldn't buy from a discount site. There are WAY too many scam sites out there that will try to take your money. I would save up some more money and buy from a good dealer. B&H Photo is one of the best. Check around, but be careful when you're rea...

Thanks. Yeah, what's funny is I had this idea for a few months, and then I saw on On The Lot. I still wanted to make the movie, even though they had beat me to it.

Anyways. I'm glad you enjoyed it.. Thanks for watching and commenting.

If you re-dub it, make you sure you record a few minutes of just the music in the club without the actors saying anything, that way you can you record the actors saying their lines in the club, re-dub at home, and then cut out the track of them saying it at the club. Then just add the few minutes of...

Haha.. well the argument was supposed somewhat stupid, but I think they took a little too far.. I got a lot of extra credit. :) Everything else in my class were still trying to figure out how to edit, so my teacher wasn't expecting very much from us... hehe.

Thanks again guys.

RE: PAUSE - A short film

Thanks a lot guys! Yeah, like pdj said... I basically masked out the characters I wanted paused inside of Photoshop, and added that layer on top of the background layer, so the background characters could move about. Thanks for the comment Kentertainment about the music... my friend will be happy to...

Yeah, but if he spun it at the correct speed it would take hours to even notice it was spinning, and I think Youtube limits the time to 10 minutes. :)
