Hmm...I've never considered a HDV camera. In fact I dont know much about them at all. I'll look into those and see what I can find out. Well, in my case, $1500 IS a large investment, seeing as the largest sum of money I've ever possessed is about $200 lol. I just got a job though, so I'll be gettin...

i dont think we will get TRUE HD for us townsfolk so soon. It may be partial HD like more scan lines or something, but for true 4:4:4 HD TV you would need the machines that robert rodriguez used for Sin City, some sort of linux based ultra highspeed data recorders. Each one of those (expensive) thin...

RE: CRT or LCD Monitors. Which to use?

well i guess it depends, lcds are much better know a days, and if you could get your hands around an 8ms refresh rate one, i dont think it would give you any trouble. I got a 12ms refresh rate one, 17" and it is really awsome, tons of space more than with my 15" crt. There are 19" wit...

i got the 120 and really like it (plus unlike Sony's this one have the Mini DV thing not in the bottom but in the side, making it much easier to change tapes when you have a tripod)

well, about that, even though Maya is the "standard" it is only the "standard" for the last touch ups and rendering, but many many (even in hollywood) use 3ds for the modeling and that stuff, then just pass to Maya, tune up the models and have an awsome render although 3ds render...

RE: Trailer for my new movie!

nice, really good quality, and also some good shots, like the church one, and the beach at the begining

but, is it me, or it has a more "tv show-like" feeling, rather than movie? (i mean a tv quality tv show, not amateur looking)

either way, keep on with the good work!

And as far as filming on location goes: Plan Like A Sonofabitch. Make a list and check it several times before you go. There's nothing worse that driving an hour and a half to get to your location only to find you forgot the tripod, or the extra batteries. And bring backups of everything you can. S...
