RE: The Blind Girl and The Thief

The only flaw I see with this is that the father would know it's his daughter and that she is blind. If he already knew such a thing why would he be terrified when he saw her? Great story by the way, defintely make it.

As of the moment I have not shot any 16mm but what I do for super 8 (and what other have people done for 16mm) is call kodak and order the film straight from the factory and ask for the student discount. You can get processing done at about 10cents per feet.

If you can wait a bit, you can find a nice GL2 on Ebay for under 2000. I'd say that's the best your going to get under 2k. It's a shame to hear your giving up on the 16mm :( .

Unless you are using film, you have need zoom out, put on manual focus, then focus in. It also helps if your ccd is large.

Well if it's anything like my Bauer, you lift a switch under the view finder that opens the gate, then you just simply pry the cartridge out with your fingers. Good choice with the Bolex DEDFX, I'm leaning towards the K-3 or a Scoopic.

I thought the blast line was charming. It gave the character more appeal in my opinion.

I think you did a really great job with this, your strength is defintely in your directing and writing. The timing on most of the jokes was very well thought out, and therefore made this a very funny film. The cinematography was also very good, with the exception of a few scenes that were a little t...

If you shoot with a high shutter speed then you can get the motion much smoother.

RE: School Shooting Trailer

I liked it, it looked like you balanced the gunplay with humanization quite well. Great cinematography, I loved the dream like effect. The only thing I didn't like about it was the title, empathy just didn't seem to fit. Are we feeling empathy for the students who went through this trauma, because I...

Buzz tracks are essential in every production, audio is half the movie.

That was really funny. Production quality wasn't the greatest, some color correction could've helped out there, but you made up for it in humor. Thanks for sharing.

Are you shooting film or something? If so I'd go with the Sekonic L-398.

I really just need him to be thrown off screen on contact with the car, so a mannequin wouldn't work nor would Outcast's idea. If anyone could simply just tell me how to animate a mask in AE 6.5, that'd be great. (I couldn't get Flash to work for me.)

I think the mask animating would be easiest to do. I just need to know how to do that, or I might see if I can get my friend to do it frame by frame in photoshop.

Lol, I'm going to clarify this one more time. I did not make that video, I merely want to know how to achieve the effect in Adobe After Effects 6.5.

How was this effect achieved?

I usually never shoot anything that requires me to do any special effects in post production (besides color correcting of course); now , however, the time has come for me to use after effects. What I need to do is have someone thrown off screen after being hit by a car. I read on AMF productions tha...
