Well good luck with that, I dont think what you want to do will be possible. The people who film it 99% of the time will edit it as well. When I was in high school I worked part time on the weekend for a super small video company, all I did was do events and wedding videography not editing; the own...

Excellent work! I found it thoroughly enjoyable. The acting was more than decent considering how many amateur actors you had to deal with. The story was a little hard to follow, but nothing bad. The locations (especially the warehouse) are excellent. Camera work was smooth and unnoticeable (which is...

Need a site to post a 65 min. film

Hey all, Been trying for some time to put up our film "A Walk in the Light Green" (http://www.lp3media.com/shorts/vietnam.html) online . Only thing is, I can't find anywhere that will accept a 65 min. film. Youtube will only take up to 10 min. I tried Google Video but they declared it as t...

Mt. Discernen Trailer

Hey all, This isn't my film but rather a buddy's (I think he's registered on here as LP3media). Anyways, here's a trailer to his latest production: http://www.mountdiscernen.com/video.html . Feel free to ask questions or post comments. I'll do my best to get him on here to answer them. Have a good o...

YOu're all mad and know so much about bleeding guns, their IS more to life than knowing the exact caliber of the M16A2 or whatever... And I still think it is ridiculous that people in America are allowed guns, you want to crack down on terrorisim, gun-realted murders, shop lifting etc.? Get rid of ...

Besides the basic equipment web, what else should I add to make it look like these guys have to hump a long way? Depends on how important accuracy is to you. Lightweight Rucksacks are best, followed by either tropical or ARVN rucksacks (they are actually called such). Real lightweight rucksacks w/ ...

Looked decent alright. The costumes were great, though I really doubt a real pilot would of wore a rig like that. For an low budget war film, it was good though I would have liked to at least seen a humvee somewhere. Out of curiosity, have any of the actors ever been if a semi-serious film (such as ...

Hey Delta echo good for you, on a cite note what did you arm your VC with? In the UK its a pain in the a*** with weps - deacts is all u can get and cost a bomb, airsoft helps but is no solution for rifles... for example mosin nagans that i wanted cost 140$ deactivated here! In the USA under $50 u c...

The M1961 buttpack was more commonly seen than the M1956 (plus its alot cheaper). The "issued" set of web gear was typically heavily modified, usually with more ammo pouches and canteens with covers. The amount of E-tools in a squad depended on the mission. You probably already know, but w...

Lookin' really good overall. Several things I noticed. What type of barrel is the that M16? It looks like it has a cutout for the M203 (could just be the pictures). Not a big deal, but not accurate either. Keep your finger off the trigger unless you are firing. This is the simplest thing to look for...

Another easy option is to assemble your own air cannon. For about $15 for of tubing and glue you can make the basic frame. As for propulsion, if you have access to a compressor, use a dump valve. If not, the potato cannon (powered by hair spray) concept works fine after a little experimentation. Onl...

Try using cement mixed in with your native soil. The incredibly fine particles give a nice "hang" effect, making the "explosion" seem much larger. At $5 for 50-100 lbs. its really cheap. Avoid breathing it in, however.

Epsilon, The M-16 A1 was also made into a three-round burst in the later half of the Vietnam conflict, The Army was tired of the soldiers of spraying and praying. That is incorrect. The M16A1 was never issued in three-round burst to the general forces. The M16A2 is, however. Epsilon is also right c...

I believe I've revealed quite a bit of stuff on this forum. If you're talking about explosives and pyro, however, it will always be limited. My background is in pyrotechnics, not film. That being said, I cannot, in good conscience tell most people the manufacturing process of many pyro devices and m...

...if you're going to use an explosive whats the purpose of using the concrete? You'll have your own realistic dustcloud, because its an ACTUAL explosive...that's kind of silly... The purpose of using concrete is to A. Keep the amount of explosive used to the lowest possible amount for safety reaso...

After watching your clips, I see what you mean about the smoke. Seeing where you are coming from, I still have to respectfully disagree, however. I don't know if the ammo you were firing was US Mil., foreign, or older, but, combined with the fact that some of the rifles are much shorter than there m...

Okay, sorry about taking forever to get back. I watch it I loved it! I had a view problems with it. Like there was a real absence of dialogue between characters. It really took on a sense of Apoc Now. Also the camera work during the night scenes wasn't really my favorite. But I understand you need ...

My editor went ahead and put two scene excerpts up. The first is more of the documentary/what they did everyday feel while the second is part of a battle scene. These can be seen here under "scene preview": http://www.lp3media.com/shorts/vietnam.html . Enjoy.

They sell that stuff at the local surplus store. Heck, I have about 25 of various types from the making of our film. There should be one hole that is smooth where they just drilled the bottom out while the other hole will be threaded. This is so it can accept the fuse assembly. As long as its hollow...

That is most definitely a deactivated grenade body. The hole is drilled through the bottom and the fuse assembly is absent.

OMG! It just came in. I don't have time to watch it, but I watched some of the special features. You were right, the explosion in the trailer is cr** compared to these. Also, the DVD menu looks great, and along with the music (reminded me of Black Hawk Down at times) it really makes you want to wat...

First off, I don't think there's a problem with anyone trying to do a war film. What I can't stand is someone wasting my time with something they claim is great. If they're looking for comments, fine, but otherwise I'd rather watch something else. As for your clip, sound seems to be a major issue. T...

We are located in Arizona, US. For those more interested in the visual effects aspect, we include a pretty detailed description on how we did the blood squibs, obtained explosion sounds (explosions and squibs) and "blowing off" someone's leg (Creating Battle Wounds). Bluescreening a Huey h...
