Flames far too bright.
Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to reduce the glare using a mini-DV camera when filming flames at night... What I'm trying to get is the distinct shape and orangey hue of the flames like you see in the movies without it just becoming a big bright dominating blob which is what is comes out a...

I can't really find a better place to post this, but I found out a pretty good way of making chunky gun reload foley sounds, unless someone's done it before... Grab a decent-sized coin and slide it back and forth amongst other coins in the loose change section of your wallet. Sounds very satisfying ...

http://carpetmonster.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fj.htm I dug up that link on hackaday a while back it's a pretty stable design. There's also a water proof camera case on hackaday somewhere if you want to look it up. I think the underwater camera case costs about $30 to make. I'm not sure about the flamet...

I should have been a bit clearer, I know. I'm a student, 18, Australia, working to about a $1000 budget from my own pocket. There's 3 main characters and 2-3 extras in the whole thing, thats it for actors, the script has small patrol vs patrol - based action. I'm not as stringent on historical accur...

Perhaps I should be a bit more specific. What I need is 2 - 3 German uniforms (either regular Wehrmacht or Waffen SS) and 3 US uniforms. To this end I also need fake weaponry: 1 Kar98 OR Mp40, 1 MG-34 2 M1 Garands 1 Thompson Sandbags, netting etc to make a machine gun nest. All shooting will take pl...

Thanks. I dunno, I'm basically starting from scratch, all I have is a script (err... unless you count an old bren gun ammo box.... :S) what I do have is time, some 2 months or so of holidays after the end of the school year. I have made several short films before but this is my first foray into a WW...

Hey, I'm looking to produce a short (est. 6-8 min) pseudo-war film based in Italy in 1943 and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about set-building. I'm hoping to get a type of bombed-out town look happening (think the anzio map from day of defeat, if you've ever played it) but this is probably...
