I have to say, i recently shot on HDV using the Sony Z1P and althought ulitmately in the end your reduced to bringing the quality back to DV (as what's the point in exporting to HDV when most tv's can't play it yet) i think it still retains a bit of it's edge, some of it's colours. A friend of the w...

Anyone know where to get this stuff?
Rodrieguez uses it in Sin City so they could turn the blood to white in post, he in his 15 minute flick school that they used Fluorescent red blood and then they bathed it in black light.

Tips for the crew role of Continuity?
Has anyone on this board got any experience on this and perhaps might be able to give me a few pointers? A few people so far have enlightened me a little on what i have to do etc taking pictures and writing down a lot of details about what happens in each scene. I have found a few continuity forms t...

Need 'Small Script' for Short Film for Tropfest!
I'm a filmmaker looking to make a small short film for tropfest, there isn't a lot of time left so i'd be interested in any scripts that aren't over 10 pages. Probably around 5 or 6 pages would be ideal. Also not too many Locations. Whether your a proffesional script writer, someone who has just com...

Adding Barn Doors to Garden Lights from the Hardware store?
Has anyone done this before? I cant afford proffesional lights ie redheads. So i bought two 500 watt halogen garden lights from Bunnings (Australian Hardware store) with stands. However to direct the light i want to try and make some barn doors for them like proffesional lights have, also so i can a...

decide locations first or not before writing script?
Me and a mate have come up with an idea and i'd like to start writing a script for it as soon as possible but the location is sort of important to the idea, the idea mostly involves a firefight between two guys, so i plan to have a lot of guns and make it entertaining...in my mind i have an idea of ...

Guns flying out from sleaves..
How do they do this effect? You know like how at the end of Desperado Antonio suddenly has two guns come flying out of his sleeves and he shoots Butchos. And in equilibrium with Christian Bale he does it quite often. Is it some spring loaded device they have in their arms? Anyone got any clues on po...
