My notorious speech at the 'Eat the Music' Event!
There was recently a battle of the bands competition held at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy - (during the evening) while in the afternoon was a 'industry conference' based on getting bands to engage in making a success of themselves etc. It wasn't a serious affair (it was all sponsored by chari...

Normally before i insult someone i say hehe, No offence but... (then provide a list of cruel statements) but this time... What a ridiculous first post - its so typical (for the rest of you to bear in mind) of the kind of trumped up twerps (gimps) who get their hands on film stock and suddenly feel t...

Well you get about probably a stop less with the brevis but it also depends on how fast the SLR lenses are as well. As each SLR lens has a fixed maximum F stop (in terms of how far the iris can be opened) - meaning the lowest F stop number on the lens hehe. So for example i have 3 lenses now, a Niko...

Hi there mate, yeah in actual fact, any shots outside key buildings bearing hallmarks of soviet architecture would be great. Such as the Moscow museum, former KGB headquarters and Red Square. Only prob though is mostly tripod shots of these equisite buildings would be appreciated. If you can manage ...

Yep set lateness is the hallmark i think of zero paid micro budget films but we're a bit powerless eh. I mean if your late for a job you get fired - and no money. So i think people think they can take the p*** a bit (not in a bad way obviously) though its consequences are bad for production!!) Ich b...

The only way to get around that eventually is to hire professional actors (and even then you have to find 'professionally' behaved professional actors if you get my drift!) Thats the evolution from amatuer volanteer film - i know it because i desperately want to 'evolve' so my casts are better, act ...

Now this is a difficult one. First of all it is by far one of the most ambitous and mature drama's attempted especially on these forums. I mean you have to give this film credit - how many of you guys have attempted marital fidelity - murder - grief - drug addiction - guilt and revenge all in one sh...

I quite enjoyed this film and it certainly was a mixed hyrbid of genres - though it managed to chart the water between these fairly effectively. I watched this film with the colleagues in my company - Gavin (our graphic designer and DoP - Gyro you'd like him!) and Barry a crazy a** Goth Punk whose i...

Yep looking good, the only thing a bit cheeso is there are a few too many shots with the '4 guy syndrome' - where we see the same 4 guys attacking and dying in front of a machine gun. Be very careful with any shots like that as a lot of this film looks brilliant - and you don't want such obvious low...

Yeah i think they are a tiny bit soft - i mean of the shots i took (we all took turns) but these were just focussed in the camera viewer (i think most dudes use a laptop) with monitoring software - but a great many rather insanely use the wee viewer - mainly with its Zoom button (it zooms a center s...

Honestly i think the script is slightly amusing, but anyone over 18 would never remotely imagine it to be original. It is a pantomine - the very nature of pantomine comedy - the type of comedy that is the easiest to write - the most pumped out imaginable. The film is also more akin to a sketch - wit...

Yup the HVX, shooting in 1080p, i will be posting pics of the adapter, setting it up, and with which lenses, and other stuff as i know a lot of you will be into these adapters - hell its why i got one. So hopefully the fact that im new to them and am learning i can share all that info so you can all...

yeah another shitty thread - honestly guys why treat the forums like a chatroom? It's the actual death of interesting discussion and debate. Folk coming to matts just see rows and rows of posts to irrelevant threads that smack of idiosm. I'd rather see a thread from gyro about cinematography, someth...

Pics from a 35mm adapter Brevis (BIG pic attachments)
Hi there! Righto well we got a Brevis 35 with a Nikon mount and we were experimenting with it in the courtyard of our office building with a Nikon Zoom lens (taking pics at a different range of focal lengths approx 28mm to 80mm) - I didn't note the exact lengths. Anyway (garry you've used them a bit...

Yah quite right, true true - agreed there! On another note it is interesting though, sex in pornography is obviously HUGELY popular, and so is death (albeit delivered in fictional work) despite death related material (real and horrible ogrish type stuff) being the 2nd most popular after pornography ...
