Whats the powdery stuff called the medics put on the wounds?

Ive got a helmet question. Is the liner supose to be loose? Mine is flopping all over the place. Do i need netting to hold it in place?

Here are some test shots (not hits) i just did. They came out pretty bad , but the point was to show that you can use flour as a smoke effect. For a torn flesh you can simply use latex and mess around pulling at it and stuff until you get a cool ripped flesh look. Its good for small things.
